Last week @ZelusAnalytics announced the first part of our Series A. This was only possible due to the enthusiastic support of our amazing investors and the hard work and resilience of the incredible Zelus team! Thank you!
We're hiring engineers who can help us design, generalize, and scale our intelligence platform as we expand across sports! If you love engineering and sports, please apply under Careers at https://t.co/g6fRGqGkch. We particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups.
@asmae_toumi@Stat_Ron To an extent. There’s certainly an interest in keeping advanced data proprietary, but I also think it’s natural evolution. Teams like the Rays and Dodgers invest 10+ person-years into analytics each year, so it’s hard for individuals to keep up.
@Stat_Ron@asmae_toumi The challenge with the current baseball analytics landscape is that there’s a growing divide between public and proprietary research, so it’s harder to stand out based on the former.
@Stat_Ron@asmae_toumi Totally agree with everything here. That was in the context of discussing ways that individuals can differentiate themselves as sports analytics candidates, either through public research, advanced degrees, and/or strong experience in tech.
I’m excited to announce that I am joining the team @ZelusAnalytics. Very thankful for this opportunity and looking forward to working with this incredible group to build amazing analytics products for sport.
Full-time positions with summer start dates are now posted! If you’re a graduating student passionate about sports analytics, please take a look. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. https://t.co/VcI3vuNR1z
‘Tis the season for joy and reflection, and I couldn’t be happier with the team we’ve built @ZelusAnalytics. It’s been an amazing journey so far. I’m excited for new challenges in 2020 as we develop the MLB intelligence platform for six partner teams and expand into other sports.
Thanks, @jphoornstra. It was great talking to you about various paths for innovation in baseball and how @ZelusAnalytics fits into those trends. This is an exciting time to be working in sports, with many new data sources and technologies on the horizon!
I love writing about interesting behind-the-scenes baseball people and their ideas. I hate that teams employ talented analysts who rarely get the recognition they deserve.
All of which is to say, here's a story about the future of baseball: https://t.co/A7iLaXwe8L
Thanks, @brendankent! I really enjoyed chatting with you as well, and I appreciate the platform @MeasurablesPod is providing for the sports analytics community.
@tangotiger As a childhood Dodger fan, I vividly remember where I was at that moment. If not for Vin Scully (generally) and Kirk Gibson’s home run (specifically), my career would have followed a very different path.
We need to fix that slide! Dan Cervone is now the Principal Data Scientist @ZelusAnalytics. I’m thrilled to be able to work with Dan again. If you’d like to as well, there are still positions open...
@mressler I did, and it tasted just like I remembered. I decided to lean into the nostalgia and had Primanti Bros last night. What sandwich isn’t better when you add coleslaw, fries, and a fried egg?
Yesterday, I completed Beyond Diversity, a two-day seminar offered by Leadership Austin. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to apply some of the valuable lessons to my own work and life, and I'd highly recommend signing up for a future session. https://t.co/QQKPr7UXsh
On a flight back to Austin from #NESSIS. Great talks and incredible people. I’m hoping to get a few of them to join us @ZelusAnalytics. https://t.co/tCy2AG1gz7
@alexthepelican @ZelusAnalytics Hi Alexander, thanks for your interest! We’re focused on filling these positions before January, and then we plan to post opportunities for next summer towards the end of the year. Stay tuned!
