@JasonLavigneAB Alberta can become an AI data centre hub as well. Cheap reliable electricity, natural gas to start, with potential for small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs). Without Ottawa's overbearing red tape, building SMRs won't be bogged down and delayed.
@JasonLavigneAB Independent Alberta can establish its own tax policy, making a low corporate tax jurisdiction. That will be attractive for corporations. Think Bahamas or Cayman Islands. All possible when you control your own tax rates.
@nationalpost Senate reform also needs to be done. PEI, NB and NS have 24 senators for 2.5 million people. BC, AB, SK and MB have the same number of senators for 12 million people. Senate should also be elected with term limits.
@jernalistNB@Cdhd123@CTVNews Yeah but they are generally poor. Poor people don't spend money. That is my point. Maybe in 10-20 years.....then make the pivot. They use coal for electricity because it's cheap for the masses. They have a small middle class.
@jernalistNB@Cdhd123@CTVNews Yeah but India is a 3rd world country and don't spend money. No real consumer market. The US is the largest consumer market which is why every country wants to trade with the US.
@avilewis Let's put this in perspective.
0.04% of atmosphere is CO2, humans make 4% of that (0.0016% of atmosphere CO2) and Canada produces 1.5% of that (0.0000024% of atmosphere CO2). Basically a pebble dropped on a football field. There's no climate crisis & no need for net zero!
