💡Use of Nitinol-containing products in patients with nickel hypersensitivity is frequently debated. In case you missed it, @anast_apost et al's DB RCT demonstrates higher rates of chest pain, palpitations, migraines, dyspnoea and rash after PFO closure, but no major AEs.

💡Nickel hypersensitivity is not a contraindication to Nitinol-containing products, although in very rare circumstances symptoms have only resolved after device removal. It is prudent to monitor for these symptoms in each patient after PFO closure and discuss them pre-op (71% risk in nickel-hypersensitive patients vs 21%). A challenging scenario with further research needed.
Higher permanent pacemaker rates when TAVI is performed for AR using JenaValve (~24%) in this multicentre registry. Compare to current experience in AS (~5-10%). Implant depth and oversizing were not predictors. A different paradigm? https://t.co/ES1bqSjj9d
@LT19991 This diagnostic OCT with co-registration demonstrates the location of in-stent restenosis with precision, and access to co-registration is a welcome addition.
First case of co-registration used with OCT at Peninsula Private Hospital. Superb technology. Follow the marker on the angiogram as it travels down the RCA corresponding to the location of the OCT image. Thank you Brian Lynskey from Abbott for case support.
ZERO CONTRAST RENAL DENERVATION
Using CO2 angiography and Simplicity Spyral system
For severe resistant HT and severe CKD
May be the 1st case in Australia as per Medtronic
Performed by me at Peninsula Private Hospital today
Poor visualisation but doable!
