@dtmcdevitt My favorite was as a student managing a patient that had been admitted after retinal detachment repair. Retina note was a small circle in a larger circle with only the words, “attached-follow..” scribbled signature.

Mopping floors in the OR for a year before starting med school was a great way to understand nursing/ surgical culture. Incredible advantage on anesthesia and surgical rotations as a student and intern. Still got yelled at for how I was holding the camera for lap choles though. Thought all those years of holding the flashlight for dad would have helped.

For the first 6 months of my practice, my phone number was a remote call forwarding number that went to my cell phone. I carried a calendar/ scheduling book everywhere. Answered every call, worked up patients from beginning to end. Scheduled every surgery. Luckily, had someone handling claim submissions though.

@FischerKing64 I left a note for my wife this morning and spontaneously wrote in cursive. We were encouraged to print in medical school, legibility/ safety/ liability issues. Caught her a little off guard, slightly enamored even.
