A 68-year-old California retiree was stabbed to death outside his Bay Area home, allegedly by an illegal immigrant who had been released from jail just one day earlier.

Police say Todd Stewart encountered 36-year-old Venezuelan national Marcos Arrante Valdez during an alleged burglary. According to the report, Valdez had two prior burglary cases and had been released by the courts twice.

DHS is now calling on California officials to keep Valdez in custody and turn him over to ICE. Valdez is expected to be arraigned this afternoon.

A New York town is facing a federal lawsuit after officials refused to allow a Christian Nativity display in a public square while permitting Islamic religious displays.

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) has sued the town of Brighton, New York, accusing officials of violating the First Amendment through viewpoint discrimination.

According to the complaint, a local physician repeatedly asked for more than two years to place a life-size Nativity scene in the Twelve Corners public square during the Christmas season.

Those requests were not approved even though the town had allowed other private religious displays, including a large Ramadan banner.

Owen Jones’s appearance on @piersmorgan is a masterclass in ideological dishonesty.

He defends Sharia law while insisting the real problem for “queer Muslims” isn’t the doctrine itself. It’s those hateful Brits who “weaponise their plight” by pointing out the obvious conflict.

His exact words:

“I speak to queer Muslims, which I think is quite important to do because they’re erased from the conversation. They feel deeply frustrated that in a country where anti-Muslim prejudice and bigotry has got worse and worse, is that their plight is weaponised, not by people who want to advance LGBTQ rights but people who want to demonise Muslims as a whole.”

Absolute weapon-grade nonsense.

You cannot seriously claim to defend “queer Muslims” while downplaying or whitewashing Sharia. Under classical Sharia rulings (the ones still applied in multiple Muslim-majority countries and taught in many orthodox circles), same-sex acts are a major sin. Depending on the school of jurisprudence and the evidence required, the prescribed punishments include flogging, imprisonment, or death. That is not some fringe invention. It’s the traditional legal position.

“Queer Muslims” who live under or are influenced by those interpretations face real pressure, family rejection, and in extreme cases violence. Pretending the main threat to them is “anti-Muslim bigotry” from people pointing out this contradiction is self-serving deflection of the highest order.

Jones is doing the classic progressive two-step: shield the ideology, then smear anyone who notices the conflict as bigots.
