@Seanfrank Exactly man. You can’t just wait around for the right circumstances. You can build your family and your business and your dream all at the same time. You might be a little more tired but that’s what it’s all about
Ecom friends. Why is your take on the patchwork of EPR laws taking over the US. Every month I am getting emailed by the CAA about a new state that wants to tax our company for packaging. The CAA feels like it’s a government agency that can fine you for not handing over sales info and packaging info. What do the big dogs have to say? @Seanfrank@Molson_Hart@BillDA@9operators there is an injunction in Oregon against their law from Feb 2026. I sure hope those laws are ruled unconstitutional.
I was told that I was smart, gifted, genius, a lot as a kid. I think that does help a lot with confidence. Especially being an entrepreneur. The self belief necessary to know that you can do something hard because you are smart.
That said the further up I went in school and started encountering other very very smart people, I found myself feeling like an imposter. The peak of that for me was at Caltech when I was working on my PhD. I met and got to work with some of the smartest people I have ever known.
Being in a class and really struggling with something for the first time while seeing others breeze through was tougher because I was always told, you’re smart. I started really questioning that.
I think a combination of your smart and also praising hard work and encouraging persistence and hard work as a way to break through challenges is a good path for kids. That’s what we are trying to do with ours.
For people who are running GMV max ads on Tiktok shops, what are you setting for the Creator Commissions on ads? Once GMV max ads come into the picture it seems like its hard to break even especially on lower cost products. @NotZainAgain what say you?

I understand the ruling from a legal perspective makes sense. The constitution says that only the congress can implement these tariffs or can delegate that power in specific circumstances to the president like the steel and aluminum tariffs or the new 10% for 150 days that the president just enacted.
However as a business operator I wish the ruling had gone the other way. We had figured out how to negotiate the tariffs and it felt like it was behind us. On to the next challenge.
Now we are back in tariff uncertainty and need to spend time thinking about this again. The government is potentially out another $200B when spending is already out of control. Some of the amazing trade deals that were negotiated are in question.
If there are refunds. Hopefully they go to the people and the people choose to buy Souper Cubes 29-piece sets and Ridge wallets.
I have become addicted to vibe coding tools for my team and am excited to spend every night doing it after I help get my kids to sleep. I have so many ideas for things that can help my team if business that can now easily become a reality. It is really freeing and I am feeling the creative energy and just so much excitement about the possibilities for our business overall.
I don’t know if I would want to hand it over to someone in my org yet but for now am having too much fun building at night and like you have said wanting to set an example for the team of what they can achieve with Claude / AI that they all now have access too.
All of our new hires must be open to using ai in their everyday and curious enough to want to get deep into building ai tools to help them in their day to day
The goal on Faire is to get a store that is a local distribution point for your products. The hope being that they are effective at selling it and will come back and reorder. They get the keystone markup pricing, ie 50% off because hopefully they keep coming back. It would be costly or difficult to do this for small independent stores with an inside sales team or reps when the order is $170 or so. So the idea with Faire is to aggregate the long tail of small independents and make it so that they find you. Selling a bulk order at a steep discount to an individual doesn’t have this higher potential for LTV built in.
An order placed by an end user also needs to be subject to sales tax and Faire doesn’t charge that to retailers because they are reselling.
@couuor Affiliately, Super bare bones but it makes links and tracks revenue and has a sign up page. You need to pay via PayPal mass pay files. But it’s self serve super cheap. We have used it from very early on
Thank you to all of our customers and friends for their support. And to @harleyf and the @shopify team for making an amazing platform and the fun milestones.
