Coming across this just now, but watching this fusion tech advance is incredibly exciting. Seems like Zap is working with all the right partners to make this possible.
A new publication, led by our collaborators at @Livermore_Lab, details the first measurements of plasma pressure profiles inside of #FuZE. This is the 3rd in a series of papers that highlight gold-standard Thomson scattering data. Each provides insights that show increasing performance for SFS Z-pinches, and in doing so bring us closer to a platform for fusion energy that's practical and commercially appealing. Here's a nice writeup from LLNL:

@AEDerocher@CANTERRADuane So, they just kill because they can. How strange. I'd love to know if they ever return for this kind of prey or if it's a gift for the ecosystem.
This is fascinating. A general antibiotic having an anti-viral impact means it mobilizes the immune system, not doing the anti-viral work itself. But, does anyone else think a qtip & some neosporin in the nose before the rave is a better idea every minute?
Repurposed: Intranasal administration of neomycin, an antibiotic, led to protection in mouse and hamster models vs Covid, and (neosporin) raised interferon expression in humans

@speakerjohnash About time! @drkiki and I spent hours on this exact topic the other day and I want you in on our "save science communication" hustle

@EricTopol@NatMentHealth At first glimpse, it seemed you were saying MRIs were involved in brain aging & knee pain. But, understandably, MRIs allowed detection that hippocampal glial activity seems linked to osteoarthritis. If one could be repaired, would the other improve? We know staying active is good
@MelMitchell1 I've seen several science reporters discussing the overuse of the AI acronym when most often the process underlying the platform is a predictive probability engine based on LLM or NLM. It's interesting to consider de-escalating fear about 'AI' thru the use of different terms.
@DrGlitterbear I only got to know you after that part of your life. I'm SO glad I was able to get to meet you when you were considering UCDavis. I immediately wanted to spend time with & know you more deeply. Your sharing is inspiring & needed. Thank u for taking on that role. It's not easy.
How is everyone here? It's been a while, and I'd love to find out if you all are just bots posting random supposed bitcoin links or if there are are still real people here. I do miss my Twitter friends.

@GaryMarcus Why don't we divide that amount between the population of the planet? Provide people with housing, feed the starving, educate for free, update our polluting energy infrastructure?
