WOW Ginny Clarke breaks down the 9 to 5 schedule. The 9-to-5 schedule became the standard for white-collar work because it made supervision easier. Everyone in the office at the same time meant simpler meetings and straightforward coordination. After WWII, suburbs, school systems, and rush hour traffic locked it into place. Now most knowledge work can happen asynchronously from anywhere. We're still organizing it like we're coordinating train arrivals.

George McLaurin, the first black man admitted to the University of Oklahoma in 1948 was forced to sit in a corner far from his classmates.

When he first applied he was denied based on his race. He went to court & it ruled that denying him was unconstitutional.

George W. McLaurin provided the Oklahoma civil rights case that irreparably damaged the "separate but equal" legal position established in Plessy v. Ferguson in 1896.

Plessy v. Ferguson was a landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision in which the Court ruled that racial segregation laws did not violate the U.S. Constitution

The justices affirmed that McLaurin’s 14th Amendment rights means he must receive the same educational experience as OU’s white students.

He earned a master's degree from the University of Kansas and taught at Langston University, an all-black institution, until 1968.

Meanwhile, the DOJ has paused all civil rights investigations. That means if a company or the government discriminates against us, the path to justice becomes even harder.

Black people have always been the foundation for expanding rights in this country. But their goal has always been to roll back those rights while rewarding the radicals and racists in their party. It was never about egg prices—it’s about power and maintaining the white majority in America.

To know @ChetteW was to love him and be loved by him. He loved Jesus most of all, and he used every single day as an opportunity to live it. He was a friend, confidant, support, brother , & wise council to @CoachGusMalzahn and I. We laughed and cried a lot together. He truly always had our back in the good, bad, hard and easy times! I miss him already.
