Everyone talks about diet and exercise for metabolic health.
But there's a 3rd pillar that can undo all your progress:
Stress.
Here's what chronic stress actually does to your metabolism 🧵
The wonderful world of mitochondrial! How do mitochondria divide and how does this control cell division? Dynamin2 (DNM2) controls mitochondrial fission & regulates RGCC, which controls the cell cycle in pulmonary arterial hypertension 10.1161/CIRCRESAHA.125.327028 @queensutime
Scientists have created one of the most detailed 3D reconstructions of a human cell (eukaryotic cell) ever produced.
This groundbreaking model, often termed a "Cellular Landscape Cross-Section Through a Eukaryotic Cell," combines data from X-ray tomography, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and cryo-electron microscopy to map molecular structures in extreme detail.
Friends and colleagues often ask, “What are the top 100 important "AI in Biology" papers that provide broad insights into the field?” 📚🔬 While narrowing it down to exactly 100 is no small feat, I’ve curated a list of foundational and impactful #BioAI papers. I'm sure the list would exceed more than 100 given the relentless expansion of this thrilling field! Please follow this thread for key insights, and please feel free to suggest any papers I may have missed!
With my background and interests, I prioritize papers in #AgingBiology, #CellBiology, and #Neuroscience. I’ll keep this thread pinned to my profile and update it regularly. I encourage everyone to add more papers from their own expertise—let’s make this interactive and foster engaging discussions! Here is a collection of essential #AIbio papers. #100_AIBio_Papers #AIBio_papers #AIBio_Chat #AIneuro_papers #AI_AgingBio_papers
@masculinepath04@MindMatterr Make sure garlics are organic and free of bleach and edta.
The should look kinda wild, grow roots and green parts normally.
Same for ginger.
Look for small and dirty, not like the one in the picture (sorry!).

But there's a 3rd pillar that can undo all your progress:
Stress.
Here's what chronic stress actually does to your metabolism 🧵
I've seen patients with perfect diets fail to improve because their stress hormones were chronically elevated.
You cannot out-diet chronic stress.
Your metabolism is a system, not a calculator. 🧠
Tbh biochemically they make no sense!
Disrupting Q10 production which is vital for the heart,
Reducing endogenous beneficial large LDL particles and decreasing LDL/apoB,
Messing with mitochondria and exacerbating Insulin Resistance - the true underlying cause.
All these without prolonging life?
What a deal!?
@BrianRoemmele@grok You’re truly an inspiration.
I’ve been trying to build a system like yours using the Zettelkasten Rules to train an obsidian based rag style agent army.
It is getting very interesting!

Sea scallop prevents obesity in mice fed a high-fat + high-sugar diet.
The animals were fed diets with different proteins: chicken, cod, crab, or scallop, for 6 weeks‹ those are listed from lowest to highest taurine content. Here's what happened:
"Only scallop-fed mice gained less body and fat mass."
"Liver mass was reduced in scallop-fed mice."
"Overnight fasted plasma triacyglyceride, free fatty acids, glycerol and hydroxy-butyrate levels were significantly reduced, indicating reduced lipid mobilization in scallop-fed mice."
That finding is huge: Free fatty acids interfere with glucose in multiple ways, partly via the Randle cycle. They are a driver of most metabolic issues. The anti-stress effect of taurine no doubt helps reduce them.
"Dietary intake of taurine and glycine correlated negatively with body mass gain and total fat mass, while intake of all other amino acids correlated positively."
"dietary scallop protein completely prevents high-fat, high-sucrose-induced obesity whilst maintaining lean body mass and improving the plasma lipid profile...”
It’s highly likely that taurine and glycine are doing the heavy lifting. Unfortunately, scallops are very expensive in most places. Gelatin and taurine supplementation are good options.
