@mcarpenter1967@FICMNews @DannytheBaker @JackParryJones2 Yes, plan is to include nurses, trainees, SAS doctors, and consultants. Ideally aiming to record for a month, but protocol is being refined at the moment. @VincentLauraj and Azra Zyada also working with us.
@DrMikeFarquhar @SpruceyLu@mcarpenter1967@FICMNews Morning all. I’m putting together a group w/ @JLDarbyshire & others to look at using actigraphy to measure activity/sleep etc in staff (inc consultants). Still many who argue we can’t apply industrial data to healthcare because we are ‘special’. Time to put it to the test!
@DrMikeFarquhar @harryclax For something you could read in an afternoon as a quick intro to the subject, my wife liked ‘Sleep: a very short introduction’ by Lockley and Foster too.
@pauldmcgovern@NDCNOxford Glad you enjoyed it! Always a bit nerve-wracking when depend on tech, but I love the options for involving everyone in the conversation. #NSOH_Conf18
@icugasdoc@TIVAuk@DoctorsUpdates @DrMikeFarquhar @sally_ghazali Agree it’s difficult for consultants. Trainee fatigue probably the more tractable problem, as issues for consultants more complex. We are thinking about a study of activity and rest in ICU at the moment which might help across the board.
