I’m in a covid vaccine trial. As a Black physician I thought it were important to participate despite all the horrific racism & medical abuse the US has put ppl through. Now today as ppl in US start to be vaccinated I feel a little hope #MedTwitter#science
@Carol_MMcDonald We can’t keep saying we want to improve the social determinants of health and end the root causes of Racism, Classism, and Gender Oppression; but still act as if Healthcare is the only answer. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
@rcwenzel@uche_blackstock I usually say "we've ruled out the common, urgent, and dangerous things that could be causing your symptoms, but this isn't your normal and we take that really seriously. Let's plan for you to..." and I provide a next step in care. Our default must be to believe our patients.
@RFentonMD@RFentonMD The Academic/Community hybrid is strong at KP East Bay. I was drawn here by desire to teach, serve Queer folks, and avoid Academic politics. I've felt very well supported to teach & innovate Queer care delivery at Kaiser Oakland with @TPMGDocCareers and @KPEBMedEd

So overwhelmingly excited to have a Black woman and an Oakland native speaking Truth. This is my representation in Washington. #kamala#BlackWomenSavedUS#HERstory
Now the real work begins.
To beat this pandemic.
To rebuild our economy.
To root out systemic racism in our justice system and society.
To combat the climate crisis.
To heal the soul of our nation.
The road ahead won't be easy. But America is ready. And so are @JoeBiden and I.

The ACA covered millions of people and reduced the racial and ethnic disparities in health coverage in CA. To take away these coverage options, especially during a global pandemic and recession, would exacerbate racial and ethnic inequality in CA. https://t.co/KugIntlJTQ
Is this a surprise? The double standard is astounding. Important to ask the nominee about her views on #womenshealth but #womenatwork deserve to be seen as more than moms away from their kids
Black women in the US fit on the deadly side of this graph. The US maternal mortality rate is rising, Black women are 3-4 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women & their death rate is worse than in many developing nations. We must change this now.
"People need to realize just because we are on Medi-Cal doesn’t mean we are not working. We are hard workers, we just cannot afford the health care system." Hear from some of the 2.9M Californians enrolled in Medi-Cal in @CHCFNews Report: https://t.co/pCFH5yrE9O #ProtectOurCare
The coronavirus pandemic has disproportionately hurt the health and financial status of Latinas in California, a new @HOPELatinas report finds. https://t.co/l6mOLdlkKv #ESLR2020
Thank you Senator Wood for your leadership and your diligence on seeing #AB890 through the finish line. We appreciate you and your efforts on behalf of California patients! My thoughts are with you and your family and our whole North Bay community. Stay safe.
Gov. Newsom just signed my bill #AB890, to allow nurse practitioners full practice authority through a transition-to-practice process, like >two dozen other states, DC & the VA that provide pathways to allow nurse practitioners to practice independently. https://t.co/IKReRzBsHf
As a firm believer in the benefits of NPs & CNMs for the people of California, I'm so proud of @CAgovernor & @JimWoodAD2 & @BillDoddCA for passing #AB890 & #SB1237 to #ClosetheProviderGap. California's health thanks you too! And thanks to @CaliforniaNP for your leadership!
Thank you to @CAGovernor, @GavinNewsom, @JimWoodAD2, and the 80+ members of the #ClosetheProviderGap coalition for putting patients first. #AB890 is now law. Rural and underserved communities will now have increased access to the high quality health care they desperately need.
