Happy to see this baby in print! Shame can be a significant barrier to accessing mental health services; self-paced, self-compassionate letter writing can be a helpful way to target/reduce shame and self-criticism

There has been a lot of confusion across social media lately when it comes to OCD manifesting as “taboo” intrusive thoughts about children. This is the perfect time to educate others about “Real OCD” and the many forms this disorder can take. (1/6)
Hi, I’m just your friendly neighborhood psychologist continuing to ask why there isn’t a national licensure system, or at least better license mobility, for mental health professionals when the need for services is so high and access to care is so low?
Need a pap smear? Appt with your GYN.

congrats to team @CheriLev for this trail-blazing study using longitudinal data to explore risk factors for body image dissatisfaction and symptoms of AN. Few datasets exist for testing #Eatingdisorder risk factors in early childhood.

I was giving a presentation when this father's words left me dumbstruck. I knew he was right. I had watched my daughter nearly die of #anorexia. I too knew what it was like to feel helpless in the face of a house on fire. To weaken the flame, we need better support for families.
For all my podcast lovers out there (or ppl who want to learn more about how to do self compassion IRL), I invite you to listen to Compassion Collective's latest ep on Apple or Spotify :)

New study by Jen Guy, @drbould@GlynLewis9. We find that stigmatizing views towards ppl with #eatingdisorders have improved from 1998 to 2008. However, EDs were still perceived as easier to recover from than depression and alcohol dependence in 2008 https://t.co/pNALkwceqN (1/2)
