Jeff Bezos: "If I do my job right, the value to society and civilization from my for-profit companies will be much, much larger than the good that I do with my charitable giving."
Dr. Howard Tucker has been awarded the record title for the oldest doctor ever after working until the age of 103.
He was continuing to work as a neurologist until just two months before his passing on 22 December 2025.
I spent 25 years as a gastroenterologist.
I treated over 7,000 patients whose symptoms had no explanation on any test.
Abdominal pain. Nausea. Bloating. Pelvic pain. Bowel malfunction. Fatigue. Later on I diagnosed mystery symptoms from head to foot. Every test is normal.
Here’s what I learned.
For the most part, life gives you so many decisions to make and so many opportunities to recover from your mistakes that, if you handle them well, you can have a terrific life. Of course, sometimes there are major influences on the quality of our lives that come from things beyond our control—the circumstances we are born into, accidents and illnesses, and so forth—but for the most part even the worst circumstances can be made better with the right approach.
My point is simply this: Whatever circumstances life brings you, you will be more likely to succeed and find happiness if you take responsibility for making your decisions well instead of complaining about things being beyond your control. Psychologists call this having an “internal locus of control,” and studies consistently show that people who have it outperform those who don’t.
So don’t worry about whether you like your situation or not. Life doesn’t give a damn about what you like. It’s up to you to connect what you want with what you need to do to get it and then find the courage to carry it through. #principleoftheday

Today I am sharing a 12-Page Cheat Sheet which is handy for every investor 👇
If you don't mind being wrong on the way to being right you'll learn a lot--and increase your effectiveness. But if you can't tolerate being wrong, you won't grow, you'll make yourself and everyone around you miserable, and your work environment will be marked by petty backbiting and malevolent barbs rather than by a healthy, honest search for truth.
You must not let your need to be right be more important than your need to find out what's true. Jeff Bezos described it well when he said, "You have to have a willingness to repeatedly fail. If you don't have a willingness to fail, you're going to have to be very careful not to invent." #principleoftheday
Here’s Ive on what Steve Jobs taught him about the power of focusing:
“Focus is not this thing you aspire to…or something you do on Monday. It’s something you do every minute.”
