@stlong77@DrEilidhMaria He was always pushing things to see how far he could, to get a reaction. I would not have been surprised if he had not been allowed to sit finals and it must have been a close call. But the point is he was sanctioned and where are the sanctions for exceeding brief here?
@Molly2323232323@DrEilidhMaria @TomStocks1982 @JanetEastham@Xeon4f145d96s1@gmcuk Of course you would think that this demonstrates sufficient lack of candour, insight, honesty and professionalism to exclude them from working within a medical team which relies on trust and one one’s ability to know one’s limits of competence.
@hkg294 Trusts need to protect their staff from… people choosing to illegally prescribe? Surely this is the individual’s responsibility? I’d hope the PA course is explicit & the exams and CbDs etc highlight that PAs absolutely MUST not try and prescribe anything or order IR imaging?
@jeanettespaget@Mary_Tom11@DrAsifQasim@fascinatorfun@rcgp@DrSteveTaylor The government has cut GP resourcing as a proportion of NHS budget to an 8 year low 8% in 2023 - cutting the £ to pay for GPs while increasing funding for PAs & non-doctor roles - falsely inflating demand for these ARRS roles & removing paramedics from ambulance service.
@jeanettespaget@Mary_Tom11@DrAsifQasim@fascinatorfun@rcgp@DrSteveTaylor The government’s funding strategy absolutely has caused the shortage of GPs and other doctors. There are bottlenecks in hospital training with thousands of eligible qualified doctors unable to compete their consultant training due to too few training places.
@DrEilidhMaria A medical school classmate signed a drug chart in his final year - the drug (paracetamol) was not given - spotted by a Dr and crossed off. Immediately pulled off the course, not allowed to sit finals. 12m later after a hearing/submissions he was reinstated with his card marked.
@JDEdwards86 @SecretPhysician Could I report the medical doctors on the GMC board of directors/executive team to the GMC for putting patients health at risk with their plans for obfuscating who is a properly qualified medical practitioner (DOCTOR). If I did, would they be investigate themselves?
@ba22219107@ClearThinker66 @TomStocks1982 I never pay by DD, I wait for the bill, then the reminder, then the threat to delete me, then the final threat… and I eventually relent and pay before Christmas.
@JanetEastham@drmattuk@TheDA_UK How ‘inadvertent’ do you think this was? In order to enable prescribing rights for an employee there will have been a conscious decision to sanction such rights for particular individuals - nothing inadvertent about it. Follow the audit trail and find out who signed off on it.
@drcolinm Absolutely shameful @drcolinm - diluting protection of the public from non-doctors masquerading as ‘possibly doctors’ while taking the hard earned money from doctors to pay yourself a huge sum.
@flissflisssss @Forensic_Sci_ Is the med student not simply observing that the doctor is being devalued under this description given that the PA is being paid more for apparently undertaking the ‘same role’? It’s not suggesting the PA should be paid less, rather that the Dr is being underpaid
@Adnepos_Iacobi@DrHuw Absolutely scandalous indictment of how the AA model has been rolled out with damning evidence that it makes no economic sense whatever. This is a power play by NHSE/government to remove doctors and their trusted influence from roles in designing and delivering healthcare.
@BillHumblebum@DrHuw Nah, he’ll have an alert bracelet which clearly states ‘anyone but a doctor please - I really believe in noctor-led healthcare. I’ll stake my life on it’
@frankhankjr@iDrSunny@KateCushing2 Yes… I mean maybe… I mean, sometimes when the science degree isn’t actually required even though it is, sometimes. But a 2:2 ‘in a relevant subject’ will do,
