I have learnt with profound sadness of the sudden death of my friend and OB, Mr. Ruhweza Sylas Atwooki @RuhwezaSylas , Minister of Information, Tooro Kingdom. Sylas has been a dedicated fellow in his role at Tooro Kingdom, where he served with passion and love for his Kingdom. Sylas valued friendship and learning from everyone, and would engage and consult me from time to time about any posts written in Rutooro something that would always keep us in touch. He leaves behind a gap that will be hard to fill.
My thoughts and prayers are with His Majesty Omukama Dr. Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukiidi(IV) @KingOyoOfficial , Sylas’ immediate family, friends, and Tooro Kingdom at large.
It is a sad moment for all of us, the youth of Tooro Kingdom. @ObukamaBwaTooro
May Sylas’ soul rest in eternal peace.
I am impressed and Locked in! Uganda has been able to sale Uganda to Ugandans! Read the comments off Steve Harvey’s tweet and you will see what I mean…. Ugandans Juu…. 🇺🇬@wekesa_amos@TourismBoardUg
Congratulations to Sam Mayanja on his appointment as the Attorney General. Many will refute, but I spent some time studying the way he was doing his work as a state minister under the Ministry of Lands, and I was impressed. He is outspoken, intellectually smart and hardly succumbs to pressure. Such traits will enable him serve well in his position.
We are also likely to see land reforms coming up given the experience he has garnered from his previous position.
@AndrewMwenda , I think you are alive to the fact that Uganda suffers a great ill of “Beauracracy” almost in each and every institution. By institutionalizing government investment in private businesses, you are redirecting the Magoola’s to a very frustrating and unfruitful pursuit of seeking the government support. The president has also been very selective, and I want to believe this has been guided by his personal “prioritization index” and inline with our development plan that focuses on supporting businesses alike.
It becomes a bitter pill seeing the president go wrong on using the Tax payers money but we should leave to him such a privilege and only guide on a few areas. As a patriot and pan african man, we may believe his actions are guided and rooted in the spirit of Africa.
I am also amused at how you were able to see through your argument and retract some statements and send apologies. It takes an intellectual to do such a thing… going ad hominem against that man is not an easy thing.
Otherwise, The president is a very smart man.
@KagutaMuseveni
@citizentvkenya Kenya should rethink the President’s security detail. How can they allow such a thing to happen? Where were they? Uganda needs to train these guys
Nothing has given us the real meaning of “Foreign Agents” or at least the supposed usage of the “Sovereignty Act, 2026” than The President’s response to @AndrewMwenda . The response also points to the president paying attention to what is taking shape in public discourse especially about the politics in state house and inside the NRM’s top executive body.
I believe Mwenda digging for information inside state house and leaking it to the public is part of his work as journalist. As to whether that information is credible, interrogating that question needs to be subjected to time.
From the response, Mwenda (The Do-Nothinger who once cost Uganda a potential foreign direct investment in the energy sector ) should be alive to the damage his opinions are costing the old man especially in his fight to pull investors to Uganda.
There is credible evidence that he is a foreign agent and the law may take shape on him at least according to this letter from Kisapeho.
@HerbertKanizio@Sudhirntv My fellow mucwezi, when prices for fuel go up, it has an effect on the commodities you use daily. It also affects public transport and how business is conducted in the community. As a foot walker, you will still be affected (badly).
#TeamEurope 🇪🇺 Heads of Mission in 🇺🇬 embark on their annual joint mission, led by Ambassador @JanSadek this year to the Albertine, to gain a broader understanding of the region, including its opportunities, challenges, culture, history & ongoing developments. #EUHoMsinAlbertine
The likelihood is; she will be formally charged and will be out on bail to represent her pple, the charges will take a year or two to solve formally. It is highly probable that she will get pardoned and may be assigned somewhere… not to handle biz locally but to keep her active around EA affairs where there is little or no public scrutiny. We are yet to see usage of the same script that handled “Kitata’s Boss”.
@EliVex01@GabrielBuule We live in different societies. Our Ugandan society is that very society that would celebrate your failings but also publicly criticize you for indecent behaviour (like kissing your partner in public). Your analogy doesn’t hold here.
