@LadyBaltimore5@nickitruesdell No, they are not. They have a great social life and are doing well in college now. Not a red cent of taxpayer money raised them.
Nope. Tax credits are still with strings. Anyway, you do you. My household prefers as much independence as we can hold onto. If it means we pay some tax that we donโt see back in services thatโs fine. We donโt take welfare either (snap, etc), but we pay for that too. I just donโt see the difference but whatever.
This whole โ singled out for taxโargument is flawed. Traditional private school families also pay property tax to fund government schools. Property tax - at least in my area - covers way more than just schools. My federal taxes also pay for lots of things I disagree with or donโt participate in. How is that any different? I donโt like taxes anymore than the next person but Iโll be damned if I allow the government to take my money and โgiftโ it back to me with strings attached. Itโs a sunk cost of living in society, but it doesnโt mean my kids have to be indoctrinated by government employees as part of that sunk cost.
D/B/A means โdoes business asโ. Itโs pretty common usage.
The legal name of the business is Inwood Pharma, Inc and they โdo business asโ or their publicly known name is Inwood Pharmacy.
This has nothing to do with any H1B shenanigans that might otherwise be taking place (I donโt defend that part).
@nickitruesdell And as with all government subsidies, it drives up the market price of all of those things for those like us that donโt want the strings that inevitably come with the government handing us back our own money.
People say I never disagree with Trump.
Really?
Mr. President, the Deep State exists because of Woodrow Wilson, and he was one of the most evil and avidly racist humans ever to exist.
Making him "great" is a real mistake.
I still have the afghan in that pattern my mom crocheted for me to match my bedroom comforter. Itโs light green, white, and pink ๐ I think she made one for each of us and one for their bed too, all in decor-matching color schemes. ๐
A newly released peer-reviewed study presents the results of theย first nationwide homeschool achievement study in 15 years:
โA Nationwide Study on the Academic Achievement of Homeschool Students and Parentsโ Reasons for Homeschoolingโ
Among the findings:
Homeschool students scored 29 percentile points higher in reading than the norm group
25 percentile points higher in language
25 percentile points higher in math
26 percentile points higher in social studies
27 percentile points higher in science
The study also found that student achievement was generally not associated with family income, parent education levels, or whether the teaching parent held state teacher certification.
Dr. Brian Ray of @NHERI_Research National Home Education Research Institute joined me on my podcast this week to discuss this study and the findings:
