Maybe this can provide some hope for people dealing with cancer. You take the Ws when you get them when dealing with cancer. I got the W this week.
A scan this Monday, the first one I had since starting Lonsurf in May, revealed the Lonsurf is was working.
@flash17yes John, going to miss you & what you do at YES. Enjoyable and great insights as to what is going on, whether good or bad. I always knew I was getting the truth, even when the truth not fun. Confirmed where I was right/wrong/misstepped in thought process. Thank you once again.
@AmyTrask@MCHammer Congrats Amy!! Rooting for you. I believe an ice cream sundae, with sprinkles, is in order to celebrate. (I am now thinking of the Mariana Trench calculation I did a few years back. lol). Oh⦠and hi!!!
@HowieRose Loved listening to him. He is one of the voices that I grew up listening to when I was a kid. Game of the Week and Monday Night Baseball the way to see out of market teams, though having Yankees and Mets locally made it easier to see various teams)
They tried to put pleurex in (a permanent chest tube that often works out non permanent if things resolve). Was back to not being able to walk. Started PT, then moved to another rehab place to learn how to get on wheelchair and these other things again.

Walk a bit with a walker. Got used to the new apparent normal. Then I started feeling weak again in mid July. By mid August I was back in the hospital. Lungs full of fluid. Chest tube to drain it. 2 liters out in under 2 days. Kept draining
@JumboElliott76 He sounded great at that concert and raised a lot of money for charity. This one hits hard as both a music fan and otherwise. (I have cancer for 11 years now. In March I basically became wheel chair bound. Seeing him perform gave me a boost as I am adjusting to things.)
@MSKCancerCenter Will see if a drug I started a couple of weeks ago works - it looks like it may be. Will see what next scans show. There is one tumor in particular that seems to be affecting my right leg. If that shrinks, perhaps my right leg will bounce back. π€ @ThanksCancer
I βve been dealing with cancer for 10 years. I am perfectly aware of my condition. The surgeries, the biopsies, the pain, the various drug combinations and the damage caused to my body and cancer cannot be cured. It is all palliative since 2017.
@MSKCancerCenter Stand for a couple of minutes while holding onto support, move from wheelchair to bed or back to wheelchair, and walk maybe 20 feet or so with walker. They are not sure how much I will improve from this point due to the cancer location.
@ARayfor3 I am following his lead on fan duel π. Apparently Celtic players are really concerned - if the results of game 1 and 2 happened before a Villanova pope was appointed, the upcoming games should oming Knicks/Celtic games will be real fun
@HemeoncF@marklewismd 10 years ago today I was officially diagnosed with Stage IV cancer when a biopsy came back. I'm MSS. My 4th drug trial, which saved my life, was in 2022. An immunotherapy trial. Lonsurf was not approved for CRC when I was diagnosed, but worked to keep me going for a year.
@JohnJackson2006 You got this, keep moving and staying positive. (I am Stage IV, starting my 11th year. Started triathlon training in my 3rd year. Doctors say the attitude and exercise has been key for me.)
