New reporting from The Denver Post: the Secretary of State’s Office made information for more than 130,000 confidential voters publicly searchable for over a week after a website update went wrong.
Officials confirmed 59 of those protected profiles were accessed before the problem was found and fixed.
These are people who asked the state to keep their information private, often for safety reasons!
This also isn’t the first data incident under Jena Griswold’s watch. In 2024, her office posted a spreadsheet with partial passwords to parts of Colorado’s voting systems.
