@HRCzarPHL PhillyDUU makes space for people like @HRCzarPHL because she tirelessly makes space for us. We will continue to push for a climate where everyone in Harm Reduction understands the importance of drug users taking the lead and being supported by non-drug users. WE 2 DARE2DREAM
1200 doses of IM NALOXONE placed directly in the hands of drug users with training in the past two months. Race is a social/economic construct. Drug use is a behavior. We work for the deconstruction of bullshit and the revival of JUSTICE.
@Lb_Sterling The most dangerous syringes are distributed, the most dangerous injection practices condoned, the least amount of education for drug users. This is not Harm Reduction. It is Harm Inflation. It’s happens slowly over time so not many can see it. Once you look it’s there!
@Lb_Sterling There are so many examples of structural and systemic acts of violence against the marginalized, we can no longer sit back silent and pretend the injustice is what it is.
Nothing about us, without us...
We need to be a majority of drug users on every board in the city of Philadelphia...for programs that are about people who use drugs!!!
I mean, if Angela is riding for @chesaboudin to be the new DA of SF, I guess I do too.. Haha.
I’m skeptical about getting involved w/ politicians & everything that comes with it. But it’s not the answer, it’s simply a tactic for change.
If you live in SF, please vote for CHESA.
THIS MUST BE SAID: Backing efforts to end America’s opioid epidemic is noble, but white people really need to think through why people of color who have endured similar atrocities aren’t automatically standing with you.
My latest for @phillymag.
