AIIMS Delhi surgery residents work 48 hours per week.
Can you believe? Can’t you?
Then I am Sorry. AIIMS surgery department tells so on record.
Then why I will imagine that residents are squeezed 24 - 72 hours without week off ??
Aisa thodi desh ka number one rank mil gaya AIIMS ko?
Is taraha duty hours guidelines paalan karnay se hi mila hoga
😅😅😅
India’s number one AIIMS Delhi doesn’t maintain actual duty hours, week off and annual leave information of junior resident doctors
21 August 2025 circular of AIIMS requests all unit chiefs and HoDs to maintain duty hour statistics of junior residents. But no one follows.
Will the Dean take disciplinary action on responsible person?
So we can assume our children are squeezed 24- 72 hours without any rest to take food and sleep under heavy workload off record in an illegal manner .
This is the reason for higher attrition rate of AIIMS Delhi
Finally!
AIIMS Jodhpur director has been removed and 5 member committee of faculty of AIIMS Jodhpur shall be constituted within five days!
उम्मीद है आगे के लिए कुछ अच्छा होगा।🙏
🚨 ALERT: To all Directors, Medical College Principals, HODs, Medical Superintendents & Unit Heads:
Dictatorship won’t work.
PG residents are not labour.
48-hour work week + 24-hour off-duty must be ensured.
No harassment. No toxic culture. Respect resident doctors.

@VishhalSJain Bullshit
No job is more draining then that of doctors.
Those ocassional nights u did aimlessly r not compared to duties where doctors get new case every other minute,,
U have no clue sailor
“When we know someone is disturbed, struggling, or not in a state to continue working — why do we still force them to work?”
UDF Vice President Dr. Ankit Sharma, speaking at AIIMS Jodhpur, raises a question that the entire medical fraternity needs to confront.
Where are the seniors, faculty members and HODs when a resident is visibly struggling? Why do we wait for a tragedy before taking concerns seriously?
No duty, no posting and no degree is more important than someone’s life.
This culture will not change through silence. Residents, seniors, faculty and institutions must come together, speak up and intervene before it is too late.
Raise your voice. Stand for each other. Otherwise, nothing will change.

Happy to see IMA demands digital monitoring of duty rosters in the backdrop rising suicide and quitting rates of resident doctors in Maharashtra
As India’s largest doctor association with an approximate estimate of 3, 50,000 - 4, 00,000 members, IMA has a huge responsibility to protect young doctors from inhumane duty hours and toxicity
It is high time IMA flexes its muscle with full force and insist Ministry of Health & NMC to strictly implement 48 hours work rule as per residency scheme 1992 and to punish violators severely apart from cancelling license to practice
Justice needed for Dr. Simmi Yadav , O& G resident of MGM, Indore
Toxicity pushes another hardworking, dedicated and meritorious resident to suicide .
Dr.Simmi Yadav been fighting toxicity of seniors for the past 6 months who has unlimited abusive power given by former HoD Dr.Nilesh Dalal. After her fight for work-life balance illegitimate duty hours of 36 was reduced to 12 hours. But bullying of seniors didn’t stop with blessing of HoD. They used to corner her, belittle her every day for silly reason just with the intention of humiliating her
Dr.Simmi Yadav attempted suicide and now in ICU .
As an eye was measure college remove Dr.Nileh Dalal from HoD post.
But is this enough? Is this the justice? Not at all.
Culprits of mental harassment must be sent to Jail immediately to save other resident doctors that face inhumane duty hours and verbal abuse every day. Law breakers shall not be at college and harass our children
Senior students that bullied her must be immediately rusticated from the college and seniors & former HoDd must be booked under
BNS 108. for abetment to suicide ,
BNS 352 for intentional insult
BNS 79 (Word, Gesture or Act Intended to Insult the Modesty of a Woman)
Let’s support efforts of United Doctors Front under chairmanship of Dr.Lakshya Mittal. He has spoken to the Dean of the college and UDF is seriously working to implement 48 hours work rule at MGM, Indore
Every Doctor in the country should listen to this conversation between a doctor at AIIMS Jodhpur in front of Director and HODs where an Anaesthesia doctor lost his life due to Suicide.
AIIMS Jodhpur. Another doctor lost.
Dr Raj Naresh, reportedly a Senior Resident in Anaesthesia (Sem 2 JR), and a 2016 UG alumnus of AIIMS Jodhpur, has allegedly died by suicide today.
A colleague alleges he was facing severe toxicity, was unwell, had undergone a dengue test yesterday, was suffering—and was still denied leave.
And this is allegedly NOT isolated.
The resident claims:
• 7 days/week
• Up to 20 HOURS A DAY
• Weekly offs only “on paper”
• Severe toxicity across surgical branches
If these allegations are true, AIIMS Jodhpur owes answers.
How many doctors have to collapse or die before resident doctors are treated like HUMAN BEINGS instead of disposable labour?
This needs an immediate, independent investigation.
Hi!
Emergency Physician here.
First rule especially in Emergency/Casualty duty.
If the mob gets aggressive, don't argue, don't justify, don't get defensive.
Nobody will fight for you. Nobody will defend you.
Your family needs you. You need you.
Just walk away, save yourself first.
What should be done in this case by the female doctor ?
Waiting to get beaten on the table by mob like what that shiv Sena corporator did ?
No , she did the right to walk away as she is aware of the mentality of people and state of security provided if anything goes wrong !
She took the best decision.
Considering how violent these situations can get at any moment, she removed herself and chose her own safety . A brave and a right decision.
Every doctor should follow this in such scenerios
