A lot of people say books change lives, but I think books more often change language.
They give us words for feelings we've had for years, and once we have the language, we start seeing ourselves differently.
Stop glorifying urgency. Not every dream needs to be chased in panic. Some of what is meant for you will require patience, rhythm, and a nervous system that finally feels safe enough to receive it.
there is something incredibly satisfying about reading the first page of a book, and immediately something in your brain sits up and goes 'oh, i'm going to like this' — and then every subsequent page proves you right.
Adulting advice? Learn to enjoy your own company. Go on solo dates, travel alone, explore new places, and drink iced coffee in random cafés. Don’t wait for permission to do what makes you happy. There’s peace in being alone and simply being yourself.
Stop reading one book at a time.
- Have a fiction book for when you want to feel.
- Have a non-fiction book for when you want to learn.
- Have a short story collection for when you have five minutes.
Different moods. Different books. More reading.
Major life hack: Quiet progress. Learn to work without validation. No announcement. No hype. No applause. Build when nobody’s watching. Write when nobody’s reading. Train when nobody’s cheering. It doesn’t take talent. Just courage. Quiet progress creates loud results.
There is healing in fiction that no self help book can replicate. Because sometimes you don't need advice. You just need to feel less alone in the experience.
when y’all are reading a book, do you also suddenly put the book down for a while after a jaw-dropping scene and stare at nothing for a few seconds like there’s a secret camera filming your reaction then start talking about what you just read to absolutely no one
The thing about the @watoto_music Send Us Album is all the songs have little micro attachments of all the times I've sung them in church and now its reminders of all those moments.
Grateful that it's within reach. Such a blessing 💕. Thank you @watoto_music@watotochurch
