@RamblingSingh So where do you practically see this going? The current political climate of culture wars and 2tier slogans mixed with the ills of social media further toxifying the debate makes it impossible to see how this gets resolved for the Sikh community. Genuinely interested in your view.
Confirmation in today's release of the Mandelson Files from Pat McFadden, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, that the primary motivation of the Parliamentary Labour Party (PLP) is to tax productive people to funnel money to those on benefits.
We have been saying this for a long time but it's good to have clear evidence from a cabinet minister that it is indeed true.
@BeardedBrownMa1 Correct. Iβve seen some disgusting tweets coming from accounts abroad about this case. The Sikh community in the UK is very different to that in Canada/US/Punjab. Their aggressive intervention from abroad into a case in which a young man has been murdered in England is unhelpful.
@MikePrendUK These types on the Left start on the premise that profits are wrong/immoral & anyone who has done well is just lucky so fair game to tax. They fundamentally misunderstand business & aspiration. Not surprising, most of them havenβt even had a proper job never mind start a business
@BurnsideWasTosh Worse is this idea that dividends being taxed at lower than salary is some kind of dodge. The whole point of a dividend is that itβs a reward for risking your capital in a business in the first place. If thereβs no upside (and there pretty much isnβt anymore), whatβs the point?!
