Here's where representative govt does a hiccup. For a century now, we've been doing the spring forward/fall back do-si-do to do a variety of things at different times across those 100 yrs. As of now, it puts the thumb on the scale for BigGolf, BigConfectioners, BigTourism. All of them heavily lobby our Congresscritters who then do their bidding and resulting in sleep fascism. AZ and HI long ago chose to stay on Original Normal Planetary Standard Time 365 and they show no signs of wanting to re-engage DST. That's telling.
We are now "falling back" to normal natural time, so when the sun is highest in the sky, called "half of 24 hrs" the clock will usually so say, depending on the season and latitude. 6am is a quarter of the way to noon. It's when we are dictated by Govt Sleep Management to "spring forward" (in a few months) that we lose an hour of sleep to make golfers happier (or so we're told). We actually tried it before, DST365, back in the 70s. It was a colossal failure (thus repealed). Greed is a helluva drug. Enjoy the extra sleep!
