Today we remember the 11 U.S. Marines, one U.S. Soldier, and one Navy Corpsman who were killed when an ISIS-K member detonated a suicide belt or vest in the crowd during the evacuation of Afghanistan. Another ISIS-K gunman opened fire after the explosion, killing multiple Afghans and killing and injuring US service members. 45 U.S. service members were also wounded in the attacked, with several losing limbs. This video is the only known footage of the explosion and also shows the chaotic situation that resulted. Our service members at Abbey gate were put in an untenable position by stupid leaders during the embarrassing evacuation of Afghanistan. We commend their bravery and their sacrifice.
