A few “questions” about the American Flag in my bio and also from Mr Blanchet about what Alberta “culture” is.
In 1916, 36% of the settlers to Alberta had American roots that moved North.
Guy Weadick, born in Rochester, New York, was a cowboy, performer, and promoter. In 1912, he organized the first Calgary Stampede, envisioning it as a cowboy championship and tribute to the Old West. He secured financing from four prominent ranchers, known as the “Big Four”: George Lane, Patrick Burns, A.E. Cross, and A.J. McLean. Notably, George Lane was also American-born, hailing from Booneville, Iowa, before becoming a Canadian rancher and politician.
Our culture and our roots have great familial bonds and ties, moreso than the rest of Canada because the government of Canada instituted the Dominion Lands Act.
By 1911, over 750,000 people, including many Americans, had moved to the Prairie Provinces. In fact, the Canadian government specifically targeted experienced American farmers who were used to prairie conditions. This led to a large influx of U.S. settlers between 1896 and 1914.
They brought know-how. Grit. A culture of liberty, faith, and hard work. They didn’t just farm the land, they forged a new Western identity rooted in ranching, rodeos, and raw independence.
Thats why the Prairies feel different.
More kinship than class.
More rodeo than red tape.
More Montana than Montreal.
We carry more than a flag in the West.
We carry a spirit that can’t be stamped out.
Not now. Not ever. That’s the history of this place.
Now, over time, things have changed drastically, but I refuse to give up our identity and culture because it bothers someone else. At this stage, I am much more concerned about the culture of the Globalists than I am the culture of America. Many people haven’t woken up to the big lie they were told during Covid even, so I understand this is trudging uphill in the rain and mud in flip flops while dodging stones… and I don’t care. If it doesn’t feel right, I won’t do it and Canada doesn’t feel right anymore. When you aren’t allowed to have an independent voice or opinion and everything must be groupthink? That’s not the values of my culture and i reject them. I like what we’ve created in Alberta as kinship, I think we could do even more if we had more capital and market access, but the arrogance of Canadians to say we don’t have a culture here and we have to double down on their anti American assholeism? Sorry, I don’t like it, therefore I won’t.
One last thing.
Traitor is a word that was used to describe Gabriel Dumont and Louis Riel and David Crockett. I think I’m in good company, and for those that think I’m just some anti Canadian asshole, shoot me your service number and I’ll show you mine and then we can talk about who has actually served and who serves talking points on X. I have friends buried in opium fields in Afghanistan for a war we were duped into attending. That should make me anti American right?
Everyone needs to read more books. Less internet and more books. Once you see the big lie then you can take down all the flags out of your bio and step out of the matrix and live in peace.
According to the CTV panel, Canada’s problems are somehow Pierre Poilievre’s and Donald Trump’s fault
Interesting theory.
The people making the decisions aren’t responsible for the results.
That’s not analysis.
That’s political damage control.
@DaIeJohnson If our dollar wasn’t 71 cents redo the math.
$58.45, 20 bucks a steak.
Canada doesn’t produce billionaires, we barely produce millionaires.
The average Canadian salary is $49,000 USD, the avg American makes $95,000CAD. If you are making 100k in Canada you are barely over avg
@Smil3yAngel Don’t look now but the EU wants us annexed also so they can dump their migrants here and flood the US northern AND southern borders, and use Canada as a staging ground to attack the US. Wake up folks, the foreign interference is European.
@bruce_mcgonigal@KendraC44999809 Will we be investigating Carney for his discussions on becoming part of the EU and undermining Canada’s sovereignty also? We are in MULTIPLE alliances from space to military to trade to energy with the US. CSIS found that China has already compromised us. Ireland shares a warning
@trainofangels00 The dollar is at 71 cents and we are in a recession. You think Poilievre would have done worse? I bet he would have convinced Elon to invest here instead of kicking him out. Two thirds of the country using the food bank and we are still oblivious to the fact that we’re bein used.
@WesleyLHuff The moment my child cried after my wife gave birth was the moment I first truly believed in and felt the power of Christ. To connect to God through the power of birth is something universally understood in conversation amongst peers. It’s interesting to me from a grounded place.
@Dave_Eby The way things are going, you won’t have a province to run, Alberta will just make deals with each nation in BC independently and bypass you completely. Good plan numpty!
@ryangerritsen The NDP is clearly the party of the extremely mentally ill. It’s why their numbers keep dropping and the independence numbers keep climbing. Let them keep talking. Never stop a fool while he is making a mistake.
@WesleyLHuff It’s a lot of energy to discharge, but what a blessing to be able to and to direct that force towards something lightful and positive. Not today Satan :)
