Canadian with an interest in things political - more left than right. Live in Calgary but don't make those assumptions. May RT things that make me laugh.
My analytics have been up quite a bit the last week or so, suddenly today, an dramatic and noticeable difference.
Please do me a favour... Please like and RT this if you see it.
I'd like to see if something is going on.
Much appreciated!

The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board: “The MAGA crowd likes to dismiss Ronald Reagan as irrelevant today, but apparently he still matters to President Trump. How else to explain Mr. Trump’s tantrum against Canada after the province of Ontario invoked the Gipper on trade in a television ad?…
The Supreme Court isn’t likely to be influenced by anything other than the law, but Mr. Trump’s Canada eruption is a good argument for the Justices to rein in his tariff power. The President gets angry at a TV ad and imposes on a whim a 10% tax on Americans who buy goods from their northern neighbor. Mr. Trump claims he’s not “a king,” but on tariffs he is acting like one, and without a proper delegation from Congress as the Constitution requires.”
Good morning. I'll get right to it.
You all need to be fucking mad as hell right now.
Because what Danielle Smith’s government is threatening to do in Alberta isn’t a negotiation tactic. It’s a constitutional crisis in the making.

Here's a piece of literature by me, suitable for seventeen-year-olds in Alberta schools, unlike -- we are told -- The Handmaid's Tale. (Sorry, kids; your Minister of Education thinks you are stupid babies.)
John and Mary were both very, very good children. They never picked their noses or had bowel movements or zits. They grew up and married each other, and produced five perfect children without ever having sex. Although they claimed to be Christian, they paid no attention to what Jesus actually said about the poor and the Good Samaritan and forgiving your enemies and such; instead, they practised selfish rapacious capitalism, because they worshipped Ayn Rand. (Though they ignored the scene in The Fountainhead where “welcomed rape” is advocated, because who wants to dwell, and also that would have involved sex and would de facto be pornographic. Well, it kind of is, eh?) Oh, and they never died, because who wants to dwell on, you know, death and corpses and yuk? So they lived happily ever after. But while they were doing that The Handmaid’s Tale came true and Danielle Smith found herself with a nice new blue dress but no job. The end.
Hitler had the "Brownshirts," the original militia that helped him rise to power, and the Schutzstaffel (SS), a more elite organization that became responsible for carrying out the Holocaust.

Yes, an official investigation by Canada's Information Commissioner confirmed that the Harper government (2006-2015) restricted federal scientists' communications with media, particularly on topics like climate change. Pierre Poilievre, a cabinet minister under Harper, supported government policies overall, but no specific statements from him endorsing the muzzling were found in my searches.
Now that tariffs will be gone on a lot of U.S. consumer goods and they’ll be cheaper, please hold the line and buy Canadian every time it’s possible. And to all Canadian companies please make it easier to be patriotic and be competitive with your prices as they tend to be higher.
