The gravity of this situation cannot be overstated, especially given that his wife, Elaine Chao, appeared in China just days after his hospitalization to meet with high-ranking Chinese officials. The question now is about national security: if Senator McConnell has been unable to independently perform his duties, what safeguards exist to ensure classified intelligence briefings, defense appropriations information, or other sensitive congressional matters could not be accessed, discussed, or shared by individuals operating behind the scenes? And given the timing of Chao’s meeting with China’s vice president, what exactly was discussed?

Sounds like the Trump economy is doing really bad, right? Here’s more propaganda. “•June’s drop in the unemployment rate was because of an exodus of workers from the labor force. •The labor force participation rate, which measures the working-age population of those either employed or looking for a job, fell to 61.5%, the lowest since March 2021, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. •Excluding the Covid-era jobs market, it was the lowest participation rate since June 1976. •The labor force plummeted by 720,000 in June.” There was an “exodus” of workers from the labor force. I wonder why?

When you read down near the end of the story, you see some clues that this is really only half the story.

“What really affects me is not so much the unemployment rate,” said Dan North, senior economist for North America at Allianz. “What’s an important development is the participation rate, and this is a big leg down in one month, and over the past year it’s a pretty big leg down.”

Now, what could possibly be driving down the “participation rate” over the last month and year?

They hinted at the answer:

The official ruling was 6–3 against Trump’s executive order, yet the constitutional wall beneath it stands only 5–4... that distinction is the decode... Roberts, Barrett and the three liberal justices ruled that the Fourteenth Amendment guarantees citizenship to children born here even when their parents are unlawfully or temporarily present... Kavanaugh supplied the sixth vote to stop the order while rejecting the majority’s constitutional reasoning. In his view, the order does not violate the Fourteenth Amendment... it fails because it conflicts with the federal citizenship statute enacted by Congress... Four justices are now publicly on record that the Constitution leaves Congress room to restrict birthright citizenship... Kavanaugh then moved the pressure upstream by making clear Congress can amend 8 USC §1401(a), create exceptions for children born to foreign citizens unlawfully or temporarily inside the country and force the question back before the Court...
