This is beyond ridiculous.
And yet FIFA is silent while fans, players, staff, officials are denied entry to play in, work in, or watch their own World Cup.
Crazy times.
Not an obscure theological spat..a central moral argument. Do the people building the technology get to set its ethical limits? Or do the rest of us – workers, citizens, parliaments, churches, unions.. get a say? Will human oversight and human empathy prevail? 👍@TonySheldonNSW
In the era of #ArtificialIntelligence, when human dignity is threatened by new forms of dehumanization, ours is the pressing duty to remain profoundly human. We must lovingly safeguard the grandeur of humanity bestowed upon us and revealed in its fullness in Christ, the splendor of which no machine can ever replace. #MagnificaHumanitas

"Rebajar impuestos a los ricos conduce a una mayor desigualdad tanto en el corto como en el medio plazo, sin ningún efecto en el crecimiento económico o el desempleo"
Extraordinary listening to Angus portray immigrants as radicals, talk deportations and “values” while pushing more coal-fired power and a fossil fuel agenda. This may be the worst economic policy agenda put forward by an alternative government in 30 years.
@AngusTaylorMP’s budget reply backs intergenerational theft: opposing fairer taxes while stoking anti-immigration rhetoric. Who does he think will staff aged care, disability, hospitals and allied health? His message: don’t be poor, old or sick. #auspol#budget
NTEU members in the ACT supported by many more around the country have fought so long to expose the governance crisis at the ANU. We have achieved so much but I am still shocked by some of what is still being revealed about Bell and Bishop’s tenure.
Hundreds of millions of people throughout the world are immersed in extreme poverty. Yet, disproportionate wealth remains in the hands of a few. It is an unjust scenario, in the face of which we cannot fail to question ourselves and commit to change things. There is no lack of resources at the root of disparities, but the need to address solvable problems related to a more equitable distribution of wealth, to be achieved with moral sense and honesty.
Good morning, world! 🌎
We have spectacular new high-resolution images of our home planet, all of us looking back through the Orion capsule window at our Artemis II astronauts as they continue their journey to the Moon.
In every crisis, health and community services workers are asked to take on disproportionate costs, and take on greater risk. Essential workers must be supported to do their jobs. HSU is calling for practical supports to be implemented right now. @Lloyd_W_#healthworkers
¡Felicidades!
Congratulations, #Chile for becoming the first country in the Americas, and the second globally, to eliminate #leprosy disease.
A true milestone for public health! And a testament to what leadership, science, and solidarity can accomplish.

Shout-out to Tassie health workers striking for fair pay. Undervalued. Underpaid. Treasurer Eric Abetz reckons hospital staff deserve less than 9% over three years. Stand strong 💪. #healthworkers

The 24-year-old student Robina Aminian was shot dead in Tehran by the Islamic regime’s security forces while out protesting on the streets.
Rest in Peace Robina
“To understand why this is so unsettling to cricket’s powerbrokers, it helps to be honest about who now shapes the game. Modern cricket is not governed by romantic custodians of tradition but by boards, broadcasters and global capital.”
