Early harvest I love using oats and a brassica
Later harvest wheat and a brassica

My rule of thumb is to terminate 10 days before planting either spraying or with Iron. Personally from the looks of it spray it off with glyphosate and dicamba if you have any broadleaves. You want to give it 10-14 days to allow the microbes and bacteria to react to the death and allow the soil to recover. If you do this you will see a big response. Do not plant into green especially since this is your first time
