@Crybabibooboo@mental_willness no matter what types of statistics you use, you can only come up with maybe 2.5% of the population being sexual predators of any stripe. many of those are female teachers. the cornell case may be an indictment of something, but this isn't it.
@SteffaniRaen if everyone agreed that a rape didn't occur or that it did occur there'd be no debate and you wouldn't be making this tweet. there would be nothing to debate, so what is your point? you've literally said nothing.
@JoshuaHedley a lot of people online cannot fathom being part of a discussion about anything if their contribution doesn't somehow center everything on them and their particular experience. if you haven't heard the song, maybe just don't tweet about the song.
@KaeleyT "I won’t apologize for creating space for the evidence to change my mind." had me rolling. who talks like this? why would anyone want an apology if someone "created space"? like who cares, lady? create your space, whatever that means.
@Milliebeaumonde@p8stie while you were busy finding plot holes in a hypothetical, you missed the point of the statement, which is that people don't like lawyers.
@Tapiwasam@johannesmkx the logic is fine. some people have never considered it simply because they've never wanted to go anywhere but up while they were on the ground floor.
@craffingKelley@MattV5959 people who are indifferent toward rape and sexual abuse constitute a statistically insignificant portion of the overall population. ask most any person in america if rape and sexual abuse are bad and they will tell you that those are some of the worst crimes someone can commit.
@P4GY1@TheLaurenChen what's also ignored is the simple fact that a major reason why a lot of people, and especially young adults, drink or take drugs is to increase the likelihood of a sexual encounter. somehow hookup culture becomes rape culture once booze is added, and that's flawed thinking.
@Auterr@CManForFreeMan you mean like in male prisons where male inmates will kill someone for being a rapist? that almost suggests that most all men would gladly kill a rapist if they were more criminally inclined, generally. and that is scary.
