Having driven over 250 miles yesterday in mostly rural areas of NY, I was surprised at the amount of farm land turned in to solar jungles.
My first thought was why aren’t those panels first on every building in the major cities. My second thought was why aren’t they on state owned land instead of agricultural lands.
My third thought was how mans days NY had rain, snow, sleet, cloudy overcast days and why would solar panels even be considered a visble option.

@0xdavecryps The same could be compared to our federal and most states.
The “workers” are the taxpayers and the “company” is the govt.
We pay, they spend on some very ODD (perhaps even considered unnecessary and extravagant) things while many of the citizens barely make do.

As far as the company/employee relationship. The company made an offer of pay for wages. The employee knew the wage offer.
If the employee isn’t happy with the wage they should either ask for more or move on.
As far as the company expenses, they also track income/expenses. If they over spend (and it is their money to spend how they like) they have bankruptcy options (same as the employee).

When the “I can’t afford rent” is stated, the first response should be:
Have you written out your income and all expenses to determine where your money flow.
They next response should be be are there any expenses you can reduce or eliminate and move that money to rent.
The last question, have you considered a less expensive rental or a second job.

Considering the earth is 4.5 billion yrs old, a record of weather patterns only 200-250 yrs old would be a vacuum.
Tree rings, ice cores, corals, cave deposits, lake and ocean sediments, fossils, rocks, pollen and ancient flood deposits have shown that the earth has undergone enormous floods, mega droughts, ice ages, warmer climate than today (Cretaceous), and very cold climates (snowball earth). Many before humans and industrialization.
Perhaps today’s weather is just another part of the earths ecological evolution.

The solar panels Jimmy Carter installed on top of the White House were manufactured by InterTechnology/Solar Corp from Warrenton, Virginia. They were manufactured in 1977 and a life expectancy of 25-30 yr. (Some only last 14-20 yrs)
Cost 1979: $28,099
Replacement cost in 2002 would have been approx: $60,000
They’d be reaching their life expectancy next yr. 2027 cost: $90,000

@ChrisMurphyCT Actually as an Independent, I stopped getting outraged back when my tax money was used to build channels under the interstates for wildlife. The very wildlife that doesn’t use them!
