42 years ago today, The Hunt for Red October was published. I'm reading it again and will do a review upon completion. It won't be a book reportโit'll be whether it still belongs on your bookshelf today...
How long has it been since you went to periscope depth with Marko Ramius? Or have you never read it?
@priceoreason Very true. Can't say the same for the fan base. We've apparently completed all seven stages of grief. The only difference is that rather than acceptance at the end, it's apathy ๐
@priceoreason As I type this, your reply has 2x the comments of the initial post haha. Youโre so right! I donโt know a single person who talks about Lanterns organically.
If you have the chance to visit Yorktown and walk the terrain, the history really comes alive. If you weren't already convinced that George Washington was a strategic genius, a terrain walk might change your mind. It was a moment which helped give birth to a nation. Franco-American logistics, coalition warfare, and land and sea power reached a crescendo. ๐บ๐ธ๐ซ๐ท
Also, Mel Gibson's contributions to the victory often go overlooked.
After a career in the military, I got accustomed to working as part of a team. Writing is a much more solitary profession. Thankfully, I still have a teammate.
Meet Leo, my research assistant. He's been incredibly helpful today.
