Instead of adhering to rigid and artificial constructs, antitrust enforcers should focus their energies on realizing the progressive purpose of the antitrust laws, namely to combat the exploitative abuse of market power that operates to the detriment of competition and consumers.
@PeteHegseth@ICEgov Anyone who applauds shooting a protester isn’t fit to be an American citizen. This nation was founded on the principles of protest and dissent. Shame on you.
@JetBlue why did I get warnings to arrive at the airport early when security was light? Why did we board buses to the aircraft only to wait for 15 minutes and counting? #incompetence#customerservice#flydelta
Elon Musk is wrong.
The main function of the H-1B visa program is not to hire “the best and the brightest,” but rather to replace good-paying American jobs with low-wage indentured servants from abroad.
The cheaper the labor they hire, the more money the billionaires make.
@PGunigantiAT Don’t recall what they were. Saw them in an exhibit years ago and was struck by the anti-monopoly fervor and the idea of monopoly leveraging that was expressed.
If the Democratic Party is to become a democratic party, the first job of a new DNC Chair is to get super-PAC money out of Democratic primaries.
AIPAC and other billionaire-funded super-PACS cannot be allowed to select Democratic candidates.
1. Since the new line on why antitrust is bad is the Spirit Airlines bankruptcy, let's talk about what is really happening. Here's a hint. The CEO of Spirit was paid a $3.8 million bonus the week before the bankruptcy. But you don't hear about that. https://t.co/uUnQ08NgoV
The working class of this country is angry.
They have a reason to be angry.
The very wealthy are doing phenomenally well, while 60% of us are living paycheck to paycheck.
It’s time to get big money out of politics and create an economy that works for the people.
It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them.
While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change.
And they’re right.
This is a very bad night.
Some of us spent years warning Dems to take working-class politics more seriously & to not tout neocons. We did so in hopes of avoiding this & yet we were vilified as traitors by Dem elites & liberal pundits.
There's a lesson here.
Goodnight.
@MetOpera bombs with Ainadamar. The sound design was so awful, with amplification worse than a Middle School musical in Peoria, makes me question trusting anything this house does. Canned music at the Met? Travesty.
@mikeirons12 Since I firmly believe that everything pre-1830 belongs to the Classical Era, and everything post-1905 belongs to the Modern Era, that leaves me with:
Mahler 1, 2, 3
Tchaikovsky 5, 6
Liszt, Faust
Berlioz, Symphonie Fantastique
And that’s it. Can’t even get to 10.
It seems that the “adults in the room” keep blaming the @FTC for tilting at windmills even though they JUST KEEP WINNING. The hipsters are on the right side of history, economics and the law.
