An MLB player tosses a ball to a kid wearing his jersey.
The kid makes the catch… then hands it to his little sister and gives her a hug. How can you not love baseball
27 years ago today, 12 students and one teacher went to school and never came home. They were shot and killed at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. 21 others were injured.
Since this tragic day, our country has continued to be plagued by gun violence that rips our families apart. I’ll always fight for a safer future, in honor of the Littleton community and every victim and survivor of gun violence.
So wrong…
Congress is getting paid and TSA is not.
Congress is getting paid and FEMA is not.
Congress is getting paid and Coast Guard is not.
Congress is getting paid and Secret Service is not.
This should all be reversed.
The math on William Shatner’s existence is hard to process.
He was born closer to the Civil War than to today. Montreal, 1931. His father manufactured clothes. His first acting role came in 1951, the same year color TV was introduced to the American public.
Star Trek premiered in 1966. It lasted 3 seasons and got cancelled. The first rerun aired before humans had walked on the Moon. Those reruns are still generating licensing revenue 57 years later.
He’s been famous for 60 consecutive years. He survived being typecast so severely in the 1970s that he did convention appearances for grocery money. He survived his third wife’s death. He survived Hollywood writing him off as a joke.
Then he weaponized the joke. Priceline commercials. The roast. Spoken-word albums where he recites Elton John lyrics as dramatic monologue. Every project that should have ended his career somehow added to it.
At 73, back-to-back Emmys for Boston Legal. At 90, oldest person to fly to space. At 94, a Super Bowl ad. At 95, 4.3 million people watching him smoke a cigar on X.
His career has now outlasted the Soviet Union, the Space Shuttle program, Blockbuster Video, MySpace, and the first three generations of AI models. He’s been working since Truman and he’s posting through the Claude era.
The compounding is the point. 75 years of showing up created a distribution moat that no amount of talent alone could replicate.
Bob Mueller was one of the finest directors in the history of the FBI, transforming the bureau after 9/11 and saving countless lives. But it was his relentless commitment to the rule of law and his unwavering belief in our bedrock values that made him one of the most respected public servants of our time. Michelle and I send our condolences to Bob’s family, and everyone who knew and admired him.
Starting in the 2027-28 school year, California will offer a new personal finance course to high schoolers and require it for graduation beginning with the 2031 class.
Every Californian should leave high school with the tools to manage money, avoid debt, and build wealth.
Two completely different worlds on the same red carpet: a millionaire flaunting his NBA cards worth $30 million in a Tiffany & Co. case made of white gold, diamonds, and rubies, next to an Iranian filmmaker who faces prison when he returns to Iran after the Oscars.
Y'all mocking his outfit in the replies but this is his signature style. Buddy Guy has said that he wears polka dots as a tribute to his late mother, and overalls to honor his sharecropper parents. He is the eldest of five children and he grew up picking cotton in Louisiana
