Hi Alex. Despite the current government initiatives in Ontario, only 35% of youth meet the Canadian 24 hr movement guidelines. In my opinion much more needs to be done to get kids to put down their phones and move more. @ParticipACTION has some great ideas about how to do this.
@Mind2Achieve Hi Dr. Dawson, how is Ontario creating a healthier environment for it's citizens? Are the solutions they have come up with good enough or do we need to put more research and education into physical activity initatives and healthy eating?
@celliottability Hello Christine, how are we creating a more healthy Ontario with the rise of obesity, sednetary behaviours, and lack of nutrition in many Ontarian's lives? What solutions are set in place?
This website is a great resource for Canadians. It helps parents understand the importance of physical literacy and allows people to learn more about healthy child development. https://t.co/4aF9YDO4VD
The way to better heart & brain health? Exercise! Increasing physical activity can lower your risk for both cardiovascular disease and cognitive decline.

@EM203atownsend Smoking can cause a lot of health issues such as heart and lung diseases, dry skin, aging and memory problems, and it weakens your immune system. People do not benefit from smoking and its negative effects outweigh the positive ones.
@m_em203#em203problems child marriage in many countries doesn't allow young girls to continue to learn and gain skills that will help them. If better policies were put in place globally we can overcome this problem.
@EM203CFoster#em203problems special education has it's issues, lack of resources is a big one. There are not enough resources and funding allocated because lack of educated people in power making these decisions.
@em203edawson#em203problems relevance is a big issue in education because the government is making decisions on what to teach children and youth when so many things are important and will be relevant to help them in the real world.
@Em203Farah#em203problems Eligibility is a big issue in being able to get osap in post-secondary studies, some students may not be able to get enough money to help them with their tuition and other costs, but their parents can't afford to chip in more.
@em203hluel #em203problems all these things related to climate change is related to big corporation and human's pollution and "consumerism" ways. We are always looking for the most convenient items which are usually one use and then we throw away.
@Em203Wu #em203problems There is tons of research on obesity, it's the world and people's attitudes on lifestyle and eating habits that brush off the fact that they know eating better and being active allows them to not be obese.
@Em203AryaSk#EM203Problems expectations play a big role based on a student's performance. This can cause students to be unmotivated to participate and try when it comes to academics and new learning.
@Em203Sam#em203problems there is definitely gender equality in third-world countries but it is slowly and surely getting there. It is something that I think will always be a problem because of their cultural ways and beliefs.
