Iโm heartbroken this morning to see that our community lost a young man who was nothing short of a miracle.
Proud Aggie Kyle Cox was born with muscular dystrophy but he never stopped in his advocacy to help others.
I had the honor to do a couple stories with Kyle and his incredible mother. Keep her and all of Kyleโs friends and family in your prayers ๐๐ผ
Read his bio from the Texas A&M website. This dude was amazing:
Kyle Cox is a graduate student in the Texas A&M University Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication. With a public policy analysis background, his focus is on disability policy and data analytics.
While at Texas A&M, Kyle served as Chairman and Founder of the Disability Subcommission. Cox served on the Student Advisory Board for Disability Services and the planning committees for the Student Services Building and the 21st Century Classroom Building.
Kyle was selected as a delegate for the MSC Fall Leadership Conference and the Abbott Family Leadership Conference and has worked with many Texas A&M officials, Disability Services, and the Center on Disability and Development to improve inclusion and accessibility on A&M campus.
In the Spring 2018, Kyle received the Gary Grey Accountability, Climate, and Equity (ACE) Award for his work in advocacy and in Spring 2020, the Buck Weirus Award. Kyle was elected as chair of the board for a newly formed non-profit, the Brazos Valley Disability Coalition.
In 2022 Kyle was appointed by Governor Abbott to serve a 6-year term on the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities.
Following his graduation from Bush School, Kyle formed a consulting company, Cox Consultants, to assist companies, legislators and agencies with data analytics and issues related to health or disability policy.
Whatโs a Jasper?!
(Itโs so rare, but every once in a basketball season, my undergrad and grad play each other. Also a fun night for meโ fairly certain Iโm the only Jasper/Ag combo in my generation)
An unforgettable surprise for one of the greats.
Congratulations to Aggie legend Dan Campbell for receiving the Lettermen's Association 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award! ๐

โState Rep. Armando Walle, a Houston Democrat who led the push, said he is really glad to see the bump make it into the near-final version of the budget.โ

๐จHB 43: A Lifeline for the Future of Texas Farming
In just five years, Texas has lost over 17,000 producers due to natural disasters, skyrocketing input costs, and low commodity prices. Our producers are being squeezed, and current programs arenโt cutting it.
HB 43 removes outdated restrictions and gives farmers and ag businesses real tools:
โ Raises loan cap to $1 million
โ Improves interest rate reductions so producers pay more principal than interest
โ Increases grant support up to $500,000
โ Expands access beyond young farmers to support all who feed and fuel Texas
This is about survival. This is about restoring Texas agriculture as the powerhouse itโs always been.
Proud to stand with our producers and to fight for the future of rural Texas.
