@azgcapital Is it consistent with the principles of democracy to allow one of the world's most brutal dictators to organize propaganda events that serve as tools of intimidation, harassment, and threats towards refugees by their agents?
One should wonder why the Eritrean gov't feel the need to organize a "festival" accompanied by helicopters, armored vehicles, & numerous security forces in Germany and why did the Germany authorities allowed it despite objections from the #Giessen city admin? #Eritrea#Germany
We have put together a situation report of the key issues affecting Eritrean refugees in #Sudan right now. It doesn't do justice to the magnitude of the crisis, but could be useful as a starting point for individuals and institutions who want to help.

It's outrageous that the @RRSEthiopia is claiming "none of the individuals who have been returned [to Eritrea] are refugees or asylum seekers." Did you conduct RSD for each individual and determined they were not refugees? Why is @UNHCREthiopia so quiet about all this?
Shocking incidents of sexual violence, including rape, sexual assault, sexual exploitation and physical violence, have been reported by women and girls who have fled the conflict in Sudan. https://t.co/I0ojrbD6YZ
Will the report acknowledge the failure of the Asylum System & Protection, including the distressing incidents of refugee camps in Tigray being razed, refugees being abducted, & those who managed to escape Tigray living in precarious and unsafe conditions in the Amhara region? 4
At the Global Refugee Form in 2019. Ethiopia made the following pledges: 1) Create up to 90,000 equitable economic opportunities 2) Expand access to quality education &skills training , 3) Strengthening Asylum System &Social Protection 4) Create clean/renewable energy solutions 1
Nat'l Stakeholder Workshop is underway in Addis in Preparation for the GRF with reps from Ministries, UN Agencies, Embassies, Donors & Partners.
The event is organized to take stock of progress on 🇪🇹's pledges made @ the 1st GRF-2019 & to set priorities for the coming 4 years.
The only place mentioned is this: "Pledge implementation in the Tigray Region has been suspended since November 2020, due to the ongoing armed conflict in the region" as footnote on page 7. Now the @RRSEthiopia is preparing for another progress report for the upcoming GRF. 3
750 people were on this boat. 108 are alive. 83 are certainly dead. The remaining 550+, including up to 100 children who were below decks to protect them against the waves & weather, are almost certainly dead. The sea is 4,500m deep at the point of the sinking >> cont.
Together, we can make a strong case for their immediate support. Let's join hands and take action to bring relief to those in need. #StandWithEritreanRefugees#TakeAction

Tens of thousands of Eritrean refugees caught in crossfire of the #Tigray war for the third time now while being in siege with the Tigray population for the past two years.
Does any one care? @UNHCREthiopia@USAIDEthiopia@IOMEthiopia

We have also heard from the ground that there is some progress in issuing exit permits in Ethiopia and we hope, at least those who have been granted visas and stuck in Ethiopia, can be resettled to safety and reunite with their families abroad. #Hope!
Thank you everyone who participated in the letter writing campaign yesterday. We can confirm that over 130 letters were sent to @SeanFraserMP & others. With your help we have voiced our concerns & we will continue to do so until we see concrete results; equity in resettlement. ✊🏾
