they canceled the Yankees game now ten thousand of the most insufferable, wet, drunken suburbanites are packed shoulder to shoulder on the metro-north train and ive never come closer to unironically smashing the e-break and leaping off
we're "here" and many of us have willingly assimilated into the imperialist economy. many of us are settlers that don't give a fuck about Black & Native queers. many of us are disgusting transmisogynists who don't care about trans genocide. "we" do not protect us.
In most countries being anti-military is seen as a mild and not so radical of a sentiment but in usa even the most "principled" leftist will be like oh no you don't understand i wanna go to college but i can't so i will fund it via working as a cog in the kill and rape machine
Tbs, the state did murder a number communists organizers and affiliates. Others self-exiled or had their passports and visas revoked. There weren't trenches of mass graves, but there was tremendous coercion and violence.
There simply weren't as many communists in the US to begin with. The ruling class didn't need to kill them all because they didn't have the same weight of political power. It was easier to dismantle far-left groups via infiltration, economic, and social repression.
Where did all the communists in the US go after WWII? Ours weren’t genocided like they were in the global south. No need. They had switched sides peacefully
We have the benefit of hindsight, bc we live in a time where we can more openly declare our beliefs, but it can't be overstated how effective being totally ostracized from society is for repressing a mass movement. Or how deeply rooted American nationalism & racial supremacy are.
electoralism will never build working class power, it can only leverage state power. We can leverage state power away from crushing (or even empowering) worker's assemblies and similar things but electoralism or "taking power" can never lead anywhere itself.
