#ETFMarketing dissonance is recognizing importance of recall when picking ticker symbols for your ETFs but then promoting your ETFs on a website that no one can remember its address
I spent $40,000 on a domain we won't even use, here's why:
- We're investing massively into brand awareness for @Zipchat ( YouTube, Social Media & so on )
- Majority of our search traffic ( Google ; App store ) comes from the keyword "zipchat" )
- Most people just type https://t.co/FFB7XpKrPV and then go to Google when the site doesn't load. We just eliminated this friction.
Even if we get 1 customer per month from this, it's still going to have a positive ROI over the long term.
Hey @godaddyauctions how can I report some suspected fishy bidding that is happening all too often when my proxy bid is significantly higher than current prices. Too frequent to happen on its own.
@gjdaniel99@GoDaddy Congrats. Many are curious who sent you the email telling you the domain is in auction? Was it Godaddy because you owned the .io or you think because you tried to buy the .com previously
Buy the .com. Go into a little debt if you have to. The right domain name is one of the few cheap things early on that you'll never regret paying up for, and one of the most expensive things to fix later.
Here's the story of how we paid $0 for a domain worth ~$250k
So at the beginning of the year we explored renaming in order to launch 2.0 of our product Mora.
We explored different options and we ended up falling in love with the name Mora.
But a premium 4-letter dot com can be very very expensive!!
We're just a young startup. We don't have that kind of cash. We need to hustle!
I spent hours writing down options, asking Claude how to negotiate, etc. And then i thought…
Wait what if we did it in exchange of equity? We had great early traction so far so it didn't hurt to ask.
The folks we talked to about it thought we were crazy! Including our domain broker (shout out Justin!)
We presented the option to the seller who ended up being open to it (luckily!)
We went through some diligence and ended up closing it!
I think a great name compounds the same way a great product does. So this effort was worth it!
@GeorgeKirikos@Darcymason@DomainNameWire@grok Honest question: Can someone mention the news you, or another outlet broke (with attribution), on an audio podcast or in a video interview? If the answer is yes, then it can be mentioned in a written article. Only alternative is to keep what you find private. Just my .02.

If you see it elsewhere, it's probably a parasitic copycat blogger looking for attention.
Spirit Airlines $FLYYQ might cease operations tonight.
What do you do if you have enough frequent flyer miles to buy a ticket?
I suggest you book a flight to your favorite destination with your miles. Some airlines will offer some concessions to Spirit customers, so in a worst case situation, you may get something for your miles that would otherwise be worthless.
@AbdulBasitcom Why not keep domains also at Afternic with Make Offer? You get distribution and set your own (higher) price that covers commissions. Seems like a win-win strategy.
Five years out, when billions of coding agents exist, software development will be largely solved. The traditional moat of “we have better engineers” disappears. Products will be copied, improved, and open-sourced almost instantly. Defensibility will shift away from code itself, toward distribution, data, brand, and community.
Hey @grok what is the dollar value you estimate https://t.co/yt5p77b6VD got in free publicity this week after @kris announced that he purchased that domain name for $70 million
Proud to have exclusively brokered the $70M sale of https://t.co/28uyeGTg4h, the largest domain name transaction in history — more than doubling the prior record.

No Second Best? Bitcoin ETFs command 90% of all the crypto fund assets globally. While a TON of alt/meme coin ETFs are likely going to hit market this year, they will only make minor dent, bitcoin likely to retain at least 80-85% share long-term via @JSeyff
