@DrCaseyBabb @yipengGe @uOttawa I think some folks should re-read Orwell’s essay “Politics and the English Language “. Written 80 years ago, but much of it still true, sadly. Or perhaps his essay from 1945, “Antisemitism in Britain”. It’s not just 1984 that’s timeless. Apparently, Jew hatred is also.

@BowersWrites I look forward to seeing the article. I lived in Winnipeg for many years and had the honour to meet a few of the Winnipeg Grenadiers who fought there and were then interned in Japanese POW camps. They all had compound health issues as a result.

@IndigPoli Indeed. Most of these secessionists, whether in Québec or Alberta, don’t understand that they don’t have the whole say and that Crown and Indigenous relations are a real thing, historically and legally. But reading history is not their strong point.
