@alexbozikovic Some accessibility requirements do seem far reaching. The latest BCBC updates are going to be very costly due to added sqft requirements. Can’t help but feel unaffordability is going to be more damaging than current accessibility challenges.
@yvrproblems@helenlw_ Not sure why that can’t just be an active bike lane through the short stretch of the village that sees a lot of confused congestion. Most of the popular cycling routes in w.van don’t have dedicated bike lanes (Marine Drive, Cypress Bowl Rd, etc)
@jarmstrongbc@AlissaMThibault@GlobalBC When I lived in Kitsilano our building managers had an inoperable van that was permanently parked in a permit zone. The owners only used it as a dry place to sit and smoke cigarettes out of. City said as long as they have a resident parking permit there is no issue.
@eduedoo@JeffGrenz Interesting! I agree with the items listed even just applying common sense. I believe our code here in BC doesn’t touch on the ridge dimension specs. Does however only allow an offset of a rafter thickness. Rafter bottoms need to be secured to ceiling joists or similar..
