Nepal has now allowed Indian and Nepali citizens to carry Indian ₹200 and ₹500 notes while entering or leaving the country. The limit is ₹25,000 per person, and only notes issued after 9 November 2016 are allowed.
This move is expected to make travel, shopping, tourism, and small cross-border trade much easier, as millions of people travel between India and Nepal every year without needing a visa.
