Not a single sacrifice this President has made.

When the economy is hardest, he makes zero sacrifice and lives large.

Came into power and splurged on a new Jet, Yatch, mansion for VP, fleet of armored SUV, and billions for travel.

Has a big cabinet with some of the most incompetent ministers we have seen.

We now have an apartheid power supply system that has gotten worst. He goes off grid and splurges on solar.

Fuel prices are high he mouths the same worthless CNG plan and tells Nigerians to be grateful.

People are being killed in hundreds and lazily tweets 2 days later and when he manages go get himself to visit the victims, he addresses them at the airport.

Every other day, something is being named after him. No decorum or class. Just embracing and encouraging shocking levels of subserviency from the shameless political class.

Nigerians pay more for everything. A generation of young people are having their productive years wasted with no form of care or remorse.

I have benefited absolutely nothing from Tinubu’s government. He promises better future that requires sacrifices. Sacrifices he has shown no interest in making.

A leader should be an example. Make some sacrifices. Show you care.

This tweet rubs me the wrong way.

Back in 2013/14, when Nigeria’s tech scene was still taking shape, the economy was stable, the exchange rate hadn’t collapsed, and UX designers were still being called front-end designers, there were real opportunities many of us never got to touch because PayPal wasn’t accessible from Nigeria.

Not being on PayPal meant not paying for quality courses, not selling services easily, not plugging into the global creator and startup economy, and constantly operating with friction while the rest of the world compounded skills, capital, and networks.

Let’s call it what it really was: an infrastructure lockout.

And that lockout came with suspicion. Funds withheld. Countries quietly labelled high risk. Entire communities slowed down because a few global platforms decided we weren’t worth the complexity.

African fintechs eventually stepped in and built what PayPal wouldn’t. Paystack. Flutterwave. Wise. Grey. Systems created under pressure so people could finally participate in the global economy.

Now, when Africa is visibly digital, profitable, and impossible to ignore, PayPal decides it’s time to expand across Nigeria and the continent.

No, thank you!

This is delayed convenience disguised as inclusion.

Earlier access would have accelerated skills, businesses, exports, and an entire generation of builders. The cost of that absence is measured in years of lost momentum.

So yes, it feels late.
