@AmyWChung@TheDohertyInst @UniMelbMDHS Did you know antibodies are decorated with sugars!
Well, what we did is profile those sugars early in a SIV/TB-infection model and see how those changes correlated with disease progression! This suggests how antibody sugars may serve as a potential biomarker for TB-disease.

Very excited to share our latest paper! 🥳
We started this project right before the pandemic began, and like many things, was put on hold. Now, after 4-years I’m happy to announce the teams work is finally out!

Haycroft et al examined humoral response to SIV-𝘔𝘺𝘤𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘶𝘮 𝘵𝘶𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘴 coinfection using cynomolgus macaque and concluded that antibody glycosylation correlates with TB disease progression.

Want to know what I have been up to lately? Well, we are developing a vaccine to save the pigs from the a-pork-alypse (African swine fever virus) 🐷
Watch the video below for more info on ASF 👇
Great work by @EbeneRHaycroft that demonstrates how antibody glycosylation early in SIV-TB infection is a biomarker for TB disease progression @TheDohertyInst @UniMelbMDHS
We are recruiting! Looking for an excellent immunologist to join my Unimelb lab as a research officer/post doc on flu and COVID projects https://t.co/sJOVfONa5x
New research shows mucosal surfaces in eyes, nose, mouth and throat are crucial to the first line of defence against upper respiratory infections, like #COVID19.

🥳 So happy to share my first, first-coauthored paper is finally out! 🥳
What did we do! Well, we looked at 1) #antibody immunity to #SARSCoV2 variants after #vaccination and 2) natural ACE2 polymorphism on affinity to #RBD! A nice summary of key take homes linked below 🦠 1/2
Check out the AI generated summary of our latest study below examining the breadth and durability of the humoral response following Omicron breakthrough infection. 👇
