@Darth_Fidelity @hermionelilly That will be interesting, bc as far as I know the rules of “our” football, rugby, etc are the same from high school on. Not a big rugby guy, but did play at school. My football team are champions of England. I know you’d (correctly) say “is” there - another divergence over time.

@Darth_Fidelity @hermionelilly Thanks for explaining, I hadn’t realised the differences were that big, though should have if I’d thought about it. I’d say the differences between League and Union are bigger (team size, the whole of pack play, etc) but the difference in experience to watch similar.

@Darth_Fidelity @hermionelilly College Football and NFL are the same game with (+/-) the same rules aren’t they? Union and League have different rules/ dynamics.

Thing is, all of these are varieties of football, as is the version formerly known as Association Rules (soccer) mostly known simply as “football”.
