Once again, genocidal monsters invade Iran.
I lost an uncle as a result of 80-88. Never met him.
To all victims:
We salute you.
We honour your memory.
We will not forget.
VIDEO | "One Jewish life is worth ten million ... Because God chose us. You are jealous."
An Israeli settler lawyer who represents settlers accused of attacking Palestinians told the BBC that Israel should "kill everyone" in the villages of Tel in retaliation for the killing of a single Israeli.
"One Jewish life is worth ten million," said Yehuda Shimon, a resident of the illegal Havat Gilad settlement. When asked whether his remarks were racist, he replied: "Yes, I know. But this is the truth. Because God chose us. You are jealous."
💢 Video, satellite imagery, and weapons analysis indicate the U.S. dropped a 2,000-pound on a family home in a densely populated residential neighborhood on Iran’s Qeshm Island overnight Thursday, The New York Times reported.
The strike killed a husband, wife, and their 2-year-old son. Two other children, now orphaned, were pulled alive from the rubble.
The report says evidence raises serious questions about why one of the U.S. military’s largest conventional bombs was used in a residential area and whether the use is consistent with international law.
Strait of Hormuz over the last 24 hours: tanker attacks are back
In my post yesterday on the Strait of Hormuz, I noted that two tankers, Rotterdam Energy and Gaslog Shanghai were going to use the Oman lane to transit. Neither tanker has updated its AIS signal since yesterday.
Meanwhile, UKMTO reported an attack that took place yesterday and IRGC published a video showing a vessel on fire.
In the video from @MarineTraffic, you will see at the beginning that a bulk carrier called, Minoan Glory, attempted to use the Oman lane before turning around.
Whatever the US did to temporarily stall the enforcement mechanism from IRGC is gone. Enforcement is back in the Oman lane, which means flow will return to a trickle. The US has an incredibly tough decision to make now: continue the unsuccessful strikes, escalate more, or capitulate completely.
My logic is that more escalation is inevitable because the Strait of Hormuz issue is all-or-nothing. There's no way around but through.
Yet another reminder: follow the guidelines. Say no to coercion by CENTCOM terrorists and don't enable their belligerence.
IRNA has reported (today) on the unfortunate fate of two offending oil tankers. Four others showed better judgement and did not follow in their footsteps.
In response to repeated inquiries, we would like to reiterate that due to continued aggressive actions of U.S. forces in the region, passage through the #Strait_of_Hormuz is not feasible. Once stability is restored, all requests will be reviewed and permits issued progressively.
Investors don't understand the AI economy. Kimi K3 launch caused a big dip in US/Taiwan hardware company stock, but Chinese companies still are using US/Taiwan hardware for training. Kimi K3 is open source. Local inference in your intranet requires a $200k server filled with latest Nvidia/AMD hardware manufactured by TSMC and equipped with Micron memory. Local AI will further increase hardware demand, due to fragmentation.

“Netanyahu flew over Eastern Canada for a third time; the Carney government won’t say if it let him do it.”
The government let Netanyahu do it. How do we know? Because he did it!
🚨Israel's style of "co-existence" in Jaffa, by War Minister Yoav Gallant:
His father stole a Palestinian home & squatted in it, even though a family was still inside. That family was forced to live with Gallant & share a bathroom & kitchen until Gallant took them to Ramallah & kept the rest of the house.
Gallant is narrating this with pride as some sort of a beautiful kumbaya story.
Yoav Gallant is named after "Operation Yoav"; a major terrorist attack which his father took part in. The operation saw the carpet bombing, ethnic cleansing & full destruction of 30 Palestinian villages, including my own family's village. All the Palestinian inhabitants were loaded on trucks at gunpoint & sent to Gaza.
Gallant was the Israeli war minister that called the very people his father ethnically cleansed to Gaza "Human Animals" & vowed to ban "all food, water, medicine, fuel & electricity" to the population his father caged in this enclave.
Gallant is wanted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity & war crimes.
An investigation by @_readthenwrite and @elsthomson reveals how Canadian universities coordinated to spy on and violently remove their students’ anti-genocide encampments.
Then, they denied the existence of records, delayed their release & deleted chats. https://t.co/UIUGJhclX9
Interesting choice of words. Fundamental idea of IP uses "creators" but "owners of IP" is used with exploitation.
Governments (& lobbies) get the final say, not creators.
Other examples of compulsory licensing: Berne Convention and cheap books, EU & Microsoft interoperability.
Intellectual property laws are usually used strictly to prohibit other parties from using the IP. Theoretically the idea is to issue licenses, but the owner can set whatever terms they like, or commonly just say “no”.
The “mechanical license” for song compositions is an interesting counterpoint. Anyone can cover a song without negotiating or even asking, they just have to pay a fixed fee to the composer for each copy sold.
That is a big contrast with the iron grip of control that IP usually provides. Someone that an artist personally despises can freely cover their song and potentially get rich doing it. You can’t decide that your composition is any more valuable than something you consider obvious trash.
Music IP has tons of messy aspects, but this narrow, somewhat outdated (focused on sales vs streaming) area seems pretty good.

The fundamental idea of IP is that the government enforces a somewhat unnatural bargain because society benefits on net from playing the game that way – more creative and innovative works will be produced if the creators can control and exploit their work for a time period.
That is not a law of the universe, it is a hypothesis, and it should always be under evaluation. Out of self interest, the owners of IP will always want more power, but letting them control lawmaking is generally exploiting the rest of society.
⭕️ The U.S. has blocked a Qatari LNG tanker from continuing to Pakistan simply because it used the Iran-designated safe corridor, and not the US-backed one.
Arabi21 has published the Jordanian petition (publicly shared by Amjad Hazza al-Majali):
دعوة إلى إجلاء القوات الأجنبية من الأردن وصون السيادة الوطنية
Attached for reference and for those wishing to read actual text. Note that Arabi21 is blocked in Jordan.

"Hundreds of Jordanian political, legal and other figures signed an open letter last week calling for the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Jordan in a rare public challenge to the government, which has long cracked down on free speech and dissent."
Anecdotally my experience is that these operations against Iran in defense of Israel are overwhelmingly opposed by people in Jordan.

Qatar has sent its first shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) through the Strait of Hormuz in weeks... using the Iran-designated shipping corridor !
Interesting development, few weeks ago they were still using the US-backed corridor.

As the Saudis increase military aggression against Yemen and France/UK issue joint statements to essentially support terrorism, it's good to remind the public of how they backed Al Qaeda and foreign mercs in Yemen (also see Syria), and to keep an eye on their filthy schemes.
The western backed blockade led to extreme shortages of food and fuel. From the UN at the time: “more than 21 million people – that's 80 per cent of the population – now need humanitarian assistance".
@MarkJCarney, @AnitaAnandMP, similar scumbag predecessors are routinely made aware of Israel's crimes (including from sources they cite when it's to their benefit - see example 2016 memo).
But you already know their hypocrisy, response: provide cover for and enable more crimes.
Reminder that this incident (and many more like it) occurred well before Oct 7.
Video gets out, "investigation" is announced (after backlash from few western circles), is ultimately dismissed (and the OCCUPIERS/enablers recycle the usual "hostile operational zone" propaganda).
🇵🇸🇮🇱Israeli occupation forces push disabled Palestinian off his wheelchair and slam him into the ground, then proceed to attack the crowd attempting to come to his aid.
This is the daily reality for millions of Palestinians who endure abuse at the hands of Israeli.
