“I haven’t seen a single district’s plan that if we were to multiply—OK, what percentage of kids are getting tutors, what percentage of kids are going to summer school—if we were to do that math, it would add up to [make up for] the magnitude of loss that we’ve seen,” Kane said.
So...the way we've always done it STILL isn't working? So spending on standardized tests and tutoring, and canned/scripted curricula isn't working? BUT those making decisions and influencing decision-makers are NOT going about it all wrong? Hmm...

The most fun in-service I was ever a part of was a community scavenger hunt. In teams, we drove around to predetermined local businesses & orgs to learn more about the community. In the afternoon we got together and brainstormed ideas for community project partners.

Our Driving Question - "How can we make our own Lego art exhibit at school?" Inspired by @artofthebrick and @NathanSawaya, 5-year-olds are working on their group habitat sculptures. Then we did a feedback protocol where kids shared "I likes" and "What ifs?" and revised/added on.
