Huge moment to finally see the two-child limit scrapped. It has been a machine for driving up child poverty, which will cost us all more in the long term, scarring the lives of those directly hit by its cruel impact. Credit to everyone who has tirelessly campaigned for its end
'Our ambition today is to celebrate the life of Graham Thorpe'

Today is Thorpey Day at the Oval. Let’s remember him for his outstanding England career and spread the word that when things go dark there is help out there and support the charity Mind.

🚨 All football fans, RT this and let’s show UEFA the support from all clubs to reinstate Crystal Palace FC in the Europa League.
John Textor had no decisive influence at Crystal Palace.
Three charities - Mind, Scope and Citizens Advice - today say they are seeing a surge in people contacting them after last week's disability and sickness benefit cuts announcement.
Paul Stewart of Mind says: “The people we help are scared.
"Many were already facing serious financial and health challenges and these proposed changes just add another layer of distress. People are telling me they don’t know how they will cope, physically, financially and mentally. Not only that, but they feel under attack, stigmatised and that the legitimacy of their conditions is being called into question."
Have been told by Govt sources that they will NOT scrap the Mental Health Investment Standard, which essentially ring-fences spending on mental health by Integrated Care Boards. They claim it was never threatened, but the sector believed it was & there are still BIG worries 1/
@MindCharity CEO @_Sarah_Hughes_ sends stark warning to @wesstreeting & @Keir_Starmer's that the decision to potentially remove the ring-fence for mental health funding will be catastrophic & cost lives.
The MHIS, brought in under Tory gov, could be rolled back by @UKLabour !
Am growing increasingly concerned that the government is about to take a backward step on mental health which will do further damage to its standing and more importantly damage care for people in need. The mental health sector was desperate for a change of government because services were in such a state but if the rumoured dropping of the Mental Health Investment Standard is confirmed it will feel like a kick in the teeth to so many. Mental health waiting lists were not in last week’s Plan for Change, which set alarm bells ringing. Mental health accounts for a fifth of the U.K. disease burden with less than 10pc of funding. If MHIS is axed, funding share is likely to fall as demand rises. I can’t see how this fits with the “hospital to community, prevention rather than cure” planks of @wesstreeting strategy, the parity between mental and physical health promised in the manifesto, or the commitment to get economically inactive people into work. It doesn’t make sense and I hope it does not happen.
🚨 Mental health services are already stretched beyond capacity.
Yet there are reports that the government may axe vital safeguards for mental health funding.
Alongside 17 organisations, we've written to the PM asking to protect funding for services 👇
