@Ed_Hinman is a former Marine infantry officer, historian, bodyguard, and author of “The Barbarian in You.”
He spent years deploying to Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Africa. He did everything right on paper, and still came home asking “what does any of this mean?”
What he found on the other side of that question became a book, a philosophy, and a way of living built around three things: vigor, wonder, and fellowship.
On Acta Non Verba episode 314 we talk about Steven Pressfield, the creative life, ego, pain as a teacher, and what it looks like to stop chasing the version of yourself that other people approve of.

Chapter 1 of "The Barbarian in You" on the VIGOR of David Lee Roth.

I've wanted to visit Verdun, France since I was 16 years old. 32 years later, I finally did -- 106 years after the guns fell silent. I write about it here. https://t.co/lFqcCkcMWu @HardcoreHistory@dcsandbrook@holland_tom
