If you want nothing, you might get what you want. Want something. Work for it. Earn it. Admit when you need support. Accept the support you need. Don't wait for time, make it.
@JetBlue a fake account reached out to me pretending to be JetBlue tech support and tried to get me to write hundreds of dollars to Kenya. Screw you "@__Jetblue____" for trying to straight up to rob people when they're having a difficult time.
Btwn @FlyFrontier+@JetBlue had 6+ delays leading to 3 cancelled flights. I just want to get home already. Day 1, weather-related staffing issues. Day 2 non-weather staffing issues. 16 hours in-airport ๐ฌ Is this how travel is now? What will day 3's cancellation be caused by? ๐
@JetBlue I'm still in line w/ several others. I'm hoping to join the morning flight standby list. At this rate I'm concerned the flight will leave before I can ask. I know the agents are doing all they can, I appreciate it, and I'm sorry they have had to work late as well.
@kenwheeler The flips & touchdown dances after handing someone a hammer makes me wonder if they'll have to pad job timelines to account for parkour.
Well, it took 29 years, but I finally watched the original Jurassic Park, a cautionary tale about understaffing your engineering department and letting people push code directly to prod.
On @AlaskaAir flight to SFO ๐ 10th in line for takeoff on an active taxi-way. Over an hour late for departure with headaches from the jet fuel smell that was coming in & we're not allowed to hit the restroom. Already looking forward to being off the plane ๐ฅ
๐ฅ Hot tip: Use Touch ID for sudo password. Edit /etc/pam.d/sudo to include `auth sufficient pam_tid.so` at the top. If use VSCode it'll ask you if you want to save a locked file. Select override and type in your password.
You can now use Touch ID to verify sudo!
@netxm I try now to think about *why* things didn't work before (with retrospect to add some clarity) and consider if the current context has the same constraints.
In my experience, things that didn't work in the past may be highly valuable in future contexts.
After years of freelancing, receiving varying levels of love/hate despite similar deliverables/reqs.. I realized I didn't have to suffer to meet unreasonable expectations.. This was a revelation for me.
@netxm Yes brother, I do.
There have been times I've used a hammer because I thought it made sense to do.
Later I encountered nails. Suddenly it was clear that a hammer was the wrong tool in the past scenario but correct for nails.
Retrospect/ Experience improves clarity.
Over the years, the things I needed to know to succeed, I chose to learn. There's still lots I don't know that I can learn to make things better for me and others. I will continue learning and teaching as I am able.
